Looks like Harbaugh is headed back to the NFL

The Vikings are a cursed franchise. Wrong way Marshall. Blown Super Bowls. Drew Pearson's push-off. The drop at the 1, the Walker trade, the missed FG in 98, the Favre interception, the Seattle FG........the list goes on and on.

Who would want to be part of that??

Edit: The NFL, as painful as always, blocks anything from youtube. There are 5 or 6 great videos about the Viking's legacy of failure. CHeck them out.

While they've fallen short in terms of the super bowls, but they were a force at one time. The purple people eaters, Tarkenton, Page, Eller, Marshall, Larsen, etc. They were a tough bunch. 3 shots in 4 years and they owned their division for over a decade if memory serves. You don't do things like that if you're not doing things right. FWIW, I hated the Vikings back then. And they didn't do it in a stinkin' dome stadium either. There were some really cold ones back then.

Still can’t believe they lost to Atlanta in 98. That Vikings offense was incredible.

...and the Falcons are cursed too. Maybe Minnesota out-cursed them.

And, lest anyone forget, that was the ONLY miss, extra point or FG, for Gary Anderson for the ENTIRE SEASON. The Vikings collapse catastrophically like no other sports franchise in existence.

And, also lest anyone forget, the Drew Pearson push off was one of the worst blown calls in NFL history and led to that insufferable mid-late 70s love fest between CBS and the Cowboys that had them on TV

Every.

Single.

Freaking.

Sunday.

I forgot about that Gary Anderson tidbit. Absolutely unbelievable.

That Legacy of Failure was pretty hilarious 😂

It’s smart of him to cash in now as he reached his ceiling at UM. This same reasoning is why I felt certain Kiffin would leave Ole Miss but he didn’t. He won’t ever do better than he did this year though, not at Ole Miss.

Agree, but people forget that Atlanta was 14-2 that season. I would have loved to have seen Denver and Minnesota in the Super Bowl.
I’m a Falcons fan and they were 14-2 but the Vikings were definitely the better team. They just weren’t better that day because Anderson missed an automatic FG (wasn’t it the only FG he missed all year?)

That’s why the Pats collapse in the SB didn’t bother me a ton once I got over the initial sting. The Falcons actually belonged in that game with the Pats. They didn’t really belong in that game against the Broncos and it showed from the get go. The Falcons never stood a chance in that game.

Smart? This wasn’t the Vikings decision. You think that the Vikings chose Kevin O’Connell over Jim Harbaugh?
Harbaugh is notoriously difficult to work with. I have no issue believing he gets passed on. Also every supposed insider says they passed on him

The Vikings' season is very much alive and they have a head coach. How does that work?

This thread was from last February when he interviewed for the Vikings job. Although there are rumors about Denver, and especially Indianapolis being interested in him this year.
