Looks like Harbaugh is headed back to the NFL

According to my Wiki research skills, the claimed number looks to be 54:

Southern Cal - 11
Michigan - 11
Notre Dame - 11
Oklahoma - 7
Miami - 5
LSU - 4
Florida - 3
Washington - 2
That’s pretty impressive.. but

Michigan with 11? I don’t even think Bo won one.

You've hit on one of my pet topics on this site.

Michigan has the most overinflated opinion of itself as a football program, and I'm not even sure it is particularly close. Even more than Texas. In addition to that Bo Schembechler is one of the most overrated figures, not just coaches, in American sports history.

What on Earth happened in the last twenty hours? Is it the optics of already having a pre-selected candidate during a nine-hour interview, or did something really collapse today in Harbaugh’s eyes?
Or jump happy media is jump happy. Better to be first than correct. Someone probably took the interview news and ran it far beyond the knowns to say it was a done deal.

How on earth does Michigan have 11? I thought the split championship in 97 was only their 2nd. Kind of like us. We really only have 2 real ones and claim 4 more.

Pre 1920 shouldn’t count for anyone. How many schools could even field a full team back then? I think they played in jeans and t-shirts in parking lots.
It's one of the big reasons why, IMO, Michigan has the most overinflated opinion of itself as a football program.

Harbaugh seems like a guy that wants complete control, much like Saban. Something tells me the Vikings weren't willing to do that.

I saw a theory that if he did return in the NFL this year, he would likely lure Andrew Luck out of retirement. His rights with Indianapolis expire at the end of the 21 season. I guess that will remain a theory.

I was going to say this exact same thing. He wanted complete personnel/roster control and the Vikings were not willing to oblige.

Hell , I don't blame him. I'd rather have the draft than the NIL and recruiting as it stands now. College has anarchy. To hell with that. Any coach with the ability to jump would be out of his mind not to do it.

He’s staying at Michigan apparently
