Looks like Jimbo Fisher is out.

A&M was really dumb upping his contract after the COVID year that was his only excellent year. He still had 6 years on the original contract and the COVID season was not a basis for anything in college football. It was a total aberration of a season across the board. Not sure what they were thinking.

Wonder if Jimbo is required to look for work.
That contract was so far in his favor, I wonder.

I thought A&M would keep him unless they had someone already lined up, but this timing makes me think they are going shopping.
This coach shopping spree will be one for the ages.

I have a feeling Kiffin will be mentioned.

Whoa. Really didn't see this one coming after the Aggies published Miss St yesterday

I mean it was only matter of time, but coaches rarely get fired after a W

I think no. Fully guaranteed is the new normal but of course that doesn’t make coaches any smarter. It does give them a huge conflict of interest. Bad football = better life.

A&M should go after Mike Ecko at Duke or Lance Leiopold. For all the money they paid Jimbo he was no better than Kevin Sumlin.

Solid guys but I think they don’t make that financial move without having top tier guys line up to interview.

I am always interested to see what James Franklin does when other notable jobs open up. He’s hit his ceiling at Penn State.

It was only a matter of time though before they fired him he has consistently underachieved there since he was hired.

I have not been impressed with Franklin in awhile. He can’t beat the big boys.

Oh i agree. Just thought they would wait until after the season or before the last game and both let him go out on his shield and get a jump on getting a new coach.

I don't really see the resources of A&M surpassing those of PSU in the bitter end. Sure we talk about the oil money, etc but guarantee the Nitwit Lions have big money backers.

At best, it would be a lateral move.

I'm just glad he turned down D White for our HC job. Franklin is the epitome of meh. Good enough to get you to a decent bowl but that's about it

aTm gonna aTm. Who fires a coach in November who is 6-4 and will likely go 7-5? Let him finish the year, try to keep some recruiting continuity, and fire him after what little bowl you go to. Less drama and less messy for your locker room and recruiting.

Typical of Texans to think they can just buy their way out of any problem with no repercussions.
