Looks like Jimbo Fisher is out.

If he can’t handle Clemson fans if won’t be able to handle the SEC. Until Saban leaves it’s 1. Bama 2. UGA. Nobody proven takes that position.

Beg to disagree on the established part.

A&M is one of maybe 10 schools who can basically pay whatever they want for a coach.

Somebody will take the job for an inflated payday.

Honestly, I think the A&M board will screw it up again all things considered.

I just don’t see Texas am making a splash hire. They’re 8-4 or 7-5 no matter who coaches.

They should go after a P5 coordinator or a non-P5 HC. I’d go after Schumann - Georgia’s DC. Dude can coach and recruit.

Not sure who they think they're going to get. Matt Campbell hasn't been as good lately. Maybe the Toledo coach? Kiffin likely won't move.

How many coaches are going to come there when you win and still get fired? Just seems like a bad culture to come into with a very short leash.
For a better fan base, Kiffin will leave in a heart beat.

So Texas A&M didn't flourish under the dirt bags? LOL. The only coach missing from this team was Jerry Sandusky.
Jimbo Fisher - HC - Gave us Captain Crab Legs / F her right in the @#$$%. Real class act
Bobby Petrino - OC - Arkansas motorcycle wreck with employee/cheating on wife - Skips out on Falcons, etc.
D.J. Durkin - DC - Creates a toxic culture at Maryland that kills Jordan McNair at practice.

Call Lance Leipold from Kansas, he was Danny White's HC hire at Buffalo.

Solid guys but I think they don’t make that financial move without having top tier guys line up to interview.

I am always interested to see what James Franklin does when other notable jobs open up. He’s hit his ceiling at Penn State.
It won’t be any higher at AM. He practically owns the mid-Atlantic/NE in recruiting from VA to New England and can’t win a big game for his life. He has to beat 1 out of UM and/or OSU and he has a shot at going to Indianapolis and then the playoffs but he can’t do it. It’s already more difficult than that at AM now add in TX and OU and it’s exponentially harder.

Wonder if Jimbo is required to look for work.
That contract was so far in his favor, I wonder.

I thought A&M would keep him unless they had someone already lined up, but this timing makes me think they are going shopping.
This coach shopping spree will be one for the ages.

I have a feeling Kiffin will be mentioned.
No mitigation in Jimbo's contract. $75-76M free and clear.

He's 58, can start using an adult name, join a bunch of country clubs and never work again...... and nobody in the next golf cart will know who he is in 4-5 years.

Good for him.

If they are letting him go now, they likely already have/are close to an agreement with someone.
If I had a dollar for every time somebody posted this, I could have a nice weekend in Vegas. I guess we’ll see.

The desperation of CF schools is comical. To give anybody a contract like that in the first place was insane. Fisher coached previously
in a weak football conference--the ACC. Even if he were Saban, the contract was stupid. Lots of rich men with a desperate need to woof about a college team and feel proud when the look at the university logo on their golf bags or toilet seats....

Kind of disgusting a school can just fork out $76 million to get rid of someone. Multiple people should be fired for that contract extension. You don't make that decision unless you have a clear vision on who you want to target as your next head coach. If not, and yiu are just winging it, you deserve what you get.

Honeslty, it probably doesn't matter. I bet A&M turns into a trash program with Texas joining the conference. They are going to play second fiddle to them.

Oddly enough, the AD who hired him has moved on.

The current guy-Bjork was responsible for the extension though. He came to the Aggies from Ole Miss (pre-Kiff)
