I'd rather root for something I have a connection to. I have no connection to the Titans or Nashville.

Albert Haynesworth was a Tennessee vol. Guess you do have a connection to the Titans. Several other Vols have played for them - seriously give up the argument - it holds no water.

Became a Colts fan when Peyton was drafted when I was in the 4th grade. Wasn't an Oilers/Titans fan at the time. I'll be a Colts fan the rest of my life.

You say you started rooting for them when Peyton was drafted....so, other than Peyton, what's the connection that will have you rooting for the Colts until the day you die?

Peyton was the connection that made me start rooting for them. Since I have just grown into a fan. I get the Nashvillians who root for the Titans, but the people from KNoxville and Memphis... it makes 0 sense to me.

I already said I bandwagoned on them when I was 10 years old. Difference is I didn't disappear during bad years, and then randomly show up when they started dominating.
...and where is your proof for that ridiculous assertion about Titans fans?

It's funny referring to Titans fans in Tennessee as "bandwagon."

Who the hell else would they be more likely to root for?

I haven't rooted for Haynesworth since the day he stomped someones face.

1) I grew up rooting for Tennessee, I attended UT.

2) I have NO connection to the Titans other than them being in the same state.

3) Sure I started rooting for the Colts because of Manning, but I will root for that team till the day I die.

Well since you didn't attend UT until recently I'm assuming, what more connection did you have to them than the Titans since they're both in the same state?

Prove it.

Thought so. What do you expect? What should they do when they're 4-12? The Titans fans always said - maybe next year... etc... what more would you expect.

I live in Knoxville. I see it on a daily basis. No Titans hats or gear around when they win 4 games, or hell even 8. They win 13 and suddenly everyone is a 'huge' fan.

Maybe because they're from the same effin state and are the closest franchise. Wow. There's tons of season ticket holders outside of the Nashville area - believe it or not. Wow.

I trust you hopped on the nearest message board and started calling out UT fans who all of a sudden became basketball fans when Pearl came to town and started winning as well.

I've been a big Colts fan since the day Peyton was drafted. I sure did bandwagon onto the GREAT team he came onto. I was 10 years old and followed my favorite player. Better than randomly deciding to root for the Titans (or Oilers) just because they happen to be in the same state. At least I have some connection to the Colts. Not to mention my love for the Colts has grown from just liking Peyton to being a 100% fan.

Who are you to decide that becoming a fan when Peyton was drafted is any better than being a fan because the Titans moved to your home state? That is a weak , weak argument. As long as a person is a true fan for whatever reason they choose IE a fav college player signing on or a team relocating to a new state if your a fan your a fan and to say otherwise is utterly ignorant.

I have called many of those people out, actually.

Clearly by dickens' standards, only people from Knoxville should root for the Vols. Everyone that lives closer to Vanderbilt and Memphis should be pulling for those teams.
