Loudest you’ve heard Neyland?

I know they measure the decibels, but I wanna know what is the loudest you’ve ever heard Neyland???
The 1998 UF game is without a doubt the loudest I’ve personally witnessed. My dad was right next to me and we couldn’t hear anything when trying to speak to each other. It felt like an earthquake once the gator kicker missed the FG attempt.

Georgia last year. Didn’t last long but for a minute was the loudest. Bama was loud this year too. I wasn’t at the Oklahoma game but a lot of people here claim that was deafening

I feel like I've written this a dozen times so I'm just going to summarize -

#1 - 2015 Oklahoma - Bar none, no contest, the loudest. Not even close. 60 minutes of noise.
#2 - 2001 Georgia - Travis Stephens screen pass at end of game to go ahead. Wall of noise that kept getting louder as he ran, felt upper deck sway more than I thought possible. Only time I've ever worried about safety being in the upper deck.
#3 - 2004 Florida - Wilhoit kick. Incredibly loud moment. Not the loudest game, but ending sequence was peak.

I didn't attend Bama 2022 so I can't speak to that one. I would find it hard to believe anything topped 2015 OU though. That crowd was out for blood for four straight hours.

I remember people not even having seats standing in isles. That place was off the charts that night ! I was up all night partying on the strip !

My answer as well (also went with my dad)

Doesn't get mentioned a lot but Cal 06 was really loud. I think many fans let out some 05 frustration

Bama this year. FL the week prior was pretty loud as well.

Louder than '22 IMO.
I was not at the ‘22 Bama game, but I can’t imagine this year (which I did attend) was louder? It may be the location of my seats, and I thought the atmosphere was great, but louder than two years ago when McGrath made the kick? No way.

Every time this comes up -

1998 Florida, the others that usually get listed are above - but nothing was ever as loud. We had 10,000 more people in there than we do now, and the atmosphere was just beyond.

I suspect December 20 will maybe match it. We will have 10,000 less- but the whole place will be Vol fans. Florida had probably 12000 at that game - it was essentially a NC playoff game in September- this WILL be a NC playoff game, and the most important game in the history of the building. And the opposing team will only have 3500 tix (plus the few thousand who pay a fortune)- so the total net will be MORE Vols than 1998.

Get your lungs ready, and leave the little kids at home. 60 minutes of ear splitting terror!
