Loudest you’ve heard Neyland?

2013 against Georgia. The game that Pig Howard fumbled into the endzone. Also the game I got more than inebriated at and got sick 50 seconds until OT. Watched the OT from first aid.

The loudest I can ever remember hearing it was Bama '82 when Walter Lewis fumbled the first snap of the game. That crowd was electric from the moment the Vols came through the Power T in orange on orange after wearing white britches warming up.

I know they measure the decibels, but I wanna know what is the loudest you’ve ever heard Neyland???
1998 Florida was really loud. Only time I have ever stormed the field. Still have the grass I picked up from the end zone.

2015. Oklahoma was really loud and I agree with the other comment about it being the most sustained.

Butthe loudest I have ever heard it in one blast was 1990 when Dale Carter returned the second half kick off against Florida for a touchdown. The beat down was on and it was a party after that!

1992 Bama game.

Everyone's tired of hearing me say it, but Neyland was much louder when the upper deck remained seated and stomped their feet the whole time we were on defense.

It was deafening
I think the completion of the upper bowl secured the "wings" of the old horseshoe and keeps the reverberations down.

I agree, it seemed louder to me then, too.

I've been going to games since the 70's. Oklahoma Mayfield game was the loudest I ever attended.

My answer as well (also went with my dad)

Doesn't get mentioned a lot but Cal 06 was really loud. I think many fans let out some 05 frustration
That is a good one too. That was one of the better beat downs especially when you consider how highly ranked Cal was. Great atmosphere for sure.

Georgia last year. Didn’t last long but for a minute was the loudest. Bama was loud this year too. I wasn’t at the Oklahoma game but a lot of people here claim that was deafening
Yeah the Wright TD was loud vs Georgia. Loudest overall have been the Florida games over the years.

I remember being a kid and the stomping was scary as hell. My cousin didn’t help when he said that if it hits the right rhythm it could collapse the deck. (Insert Debbie Downer face)

I was at the 04 game against Florida and at the 15 game against Oklahoma. 04 game was loud when wilhoit made the game winner but that 15 game against Oklahoma was loud all game long.

1998 Florida…specifically when Al Wilson got the fumble on the goal line and of course the stellar ending…my ears are still ringing from the 107,000 screaming banshees…I mean Vols! GBO.

1985 Auburn with Bo Jackson. The upper deck was vibrating.

1998 Florida

2022 Bama

Several Florida, Bama games come to mind

Oklahoma was very loud and was an inexcusable loss with how dominant the Vols were that night...

The game went terribly but 04 Auburn was pretty loud. Wish I was at the 15 Oklahoma game because that sounded on tv pretty intimidating

I don't see it get mentioned often because we ultimately lost but the 2001 Georgia "hobnail boot" game, Travis Stephen's takes the screen pass to the house in what we thought was the game winner. The eruption of the crowd in that moment is still one of the loudest moments I've experienced in Neyland.
