Wow, Corso could be right.

Cal could actually play for and win the NC!

What if Cal goes to the NC game and squeaks by TOSU.

UF runs the table to finish 3rd in the BCS and spanks a team in a BCS game.

Will there be a split title with performance against good old UT giving the nod to UF?

I just threw up a bit in my mouth thinking about it.

And you were 5-6. So teams that beat you this year must suck, right?

Yes, there is truth to that.

Look Gator, we all know that Rutgers cannot beat tOSU, nor could they go through an SEC schedule undefeated. Lu'aville had a much greater argument because at least they tried to schedule a tough nonconference opponent. It is not their fault Miami sucks this year.

IMO Rutgers will not go undefeated, but if they do, and they are the only other undefeated team in a conference with BCS tie ins, it will be hard to justify keeping them out of the championship game for this reason. Picking the best one loss team (though in the SEC we might think it is obvious) just leads to another set of nightmares for the system.

I know what we're talking about. Gee Wiz Wally. The point is regardless of what year it is, WV is overrated. They play the same patsy schedule as UoL and Rutgers. It's the same school in 3 different uni's.

Haha, no.

WVU beat a 10-1 Georgia team LAST SEASON. It doesn't matter what UGA does this season, because it's a different season. It's not brain surgery.

I'm the one that made a statement about Louisville playing and beating Miami. I said you have to give credit for the Cards scheduling what should have been a very good Canes team. We all know the Canes have tanked but the Cards scheduling them and then blowing them out is better than Rutgers not scheduling anyone in the preseason.

I also don't see WV beating Rutgers. Louisville beat WV by 10 and Rutgers has a FAR better defense than the Ville does. Advantage Rutgers

Watching the game last night, I just about got sick hearing Kirk Herbstreit kiss the Little East's a**. IMO, the Little East is still a joke of a conference. The top three teams in that conference - Louisville, WVU, Rutgers - would not be able to hang with the top teams in the SEC, pure and simple.

Explain how I'm the "king of dillusion"? Please, try to figure that out.

You never make any sense. You're always poked by everyone else as never making sense. You've even admitted it in hte last 5 days. So, to accuse someone else of not making sense is dillusional.

Perhaps so, although I do have my doubts.

In terms of asking wether an undefeated Rutgers team "deserves" to go to the NT game over a once beaten Auburn, Florida, Texas, Arkansas, USC, Cal, or Notre Dame, however, the answer to me is clear: no. And the reason is that those teams will have managed to win at least 3 or 4 games against top flight opponents and another 3 or 4 against decent teams and they will have done it over the course of a whole season.

If the question is whether Rutgers can hang with OSU or Michigan for one 60 minute game, my suspicion is no but I'd be a liar if I said I knew for sure and so, as someone saidm line up and play it.

But if the question is who deserves to be there in the first place, my answer is "not Rutgers" because I think if faced with the same schedule of the one loss teams mentioned above, we would not be haviong this discussion and Rutgers might well be wondering if it could get into ANY bowl, much less a BCS game.

And you were 5-6. So teams that beat you this year must suck, right?

Don't be silly. We've actually been ranked all year. And the only 2 teams to beat us this year were also ranked, and higher. But, they are UF and LSU, so, yeah, the teams that beat us this year do suck.

I can't remember a time where someone said I made no sense. I've been told I'm egotistical and condescending.

But go ahead, please show me. I've never been delusional.

Since you have to walk people through logic on this board hand in hand, let's spell it out. Yes, UT was 5-6 last year, but has also returned to standing 7-2 with losses only to highly ranked teams. UGA was SEC champs last year, then got beat by WV. WV's subsequent claim to honor as a Big East/Nat'l power is beating an opponent that has tanked into losing 4 straight to UT/Vandy/UF/ UK. Anybody that beat us this year or last, beat someone who immediately corrected the ship back to whence it came. UGA is only a Johnny Come Lately still looking for that other shoe. They've only accomplished something real maybe 4 or 5 times in the last 2.5 decades. We've only had one bad year in 13.

I know a lot of people have different opinions on the Big East but that was the best game I have watched all year..sorry but it was a fantastic game

This post didn't walk anyone through any logic hand in hand. WVU in 2005 beat Georgia in 2005 and it has no bearing on 2006. None. Georgia LAST SEASON was a very very very good team.

If WVU beat UGA this season, of course it woudn't be much to brag about. But in 2005, WVU beat the SEC Champion. Period.

Rutgers deserve a BCS bowl if they go undefeated, but I don't think that they deserve a NC game due to their schedule/conference, as bad as it sounds.

Just for giggles, Let's make a few assumpitons with three weeks to go:
1. UF wins out and beats ARK for SEC title
2. TX wins out and beats Neb for Big 12 title
3. USC beats ND
4. CAL beats USC
5. Rutgers beats WVU

that leaves RU, UF, TX and Cal as the teams with legit claims as to who's #2.

IMHO, when it is all said and done, the strength of schedule for Florida would vault them to the top of the heap. Rutgers, who i think is as deserving as any of the others--probably not BETTER than the others--but they would be an undefeated BCS conf. champion with wins over a top 5 and top 10 team, but their current position in the polls is too far to climb this late.

TX loses to UF and Cal on strength of schedule.

CAL and UF are the two teams with the best shot if they win out. UF is sitting at 15 in SOS and CAL is right behind at 17. Texas is 32, USC is 41 and Rutgers is 78...this is all as of 11-4 of course, so it will change after the weekend.

UF and Cal have the most to gain by the opponents they have coming up...Cal with USC (whos SOS will get beter at season's end with games against Cal and ND) and UF with SC and SEC CG (SC is at 16 SOS wise btw with games against UF and Clemson left).

interestingly enough..OSU SOS is 63.

so imo, Cal and UF have the most to lose/gain toward the end of the season. computers, pollsters whatever...when it's all said and done...UF, Cal, and TX are the top three contenders, in that order.

USC still has a great shot as well. Wins over ND and CAL would do loads for their SOS and should they win out, they replace Cal in my pecking order.

Wow...Got Midol?

Rutgers wins out, they should play for NC if they are one of the two unbeaten teams. They just beat #3 Louisville, they should move up. Remember our argument of UT being ahead of Cal because we beat them on the field. I am kind of a actually play the game guy, rather than a let the talking heads choose who is best.

I am with the others in agreeing that WV will take care of the Scarlet Knights.

I think Rutgers pulls this one out, too. They are a good defensive team with Ray Rice as their running back... they'll hang strong with tOSU or Michigan, things go their way they will even beat them... but a lot of things have to go their way.

Things will really get interesting if IU beats Michigan this weekend (anything could happen if Michigan is looking ahead) and Michigan beats tOSU. Then the BCS will have a plethora of one loss teams on their blood stained hands.

Rutgers will have to do a lot of guessing on D to stop the Mountaineers. They will end up guessing wrong, and the game will fall to WVa.

I watched a good portion of the game last night. You know -- and I say this not because Florida is alive again for the NT game thanks to the Scarlet Kaniggets -- if Rutgers were in the SEC, they'd be 6-3 right about now. At best.

Sorry to any Big East fans, but that conference just isn't competitive relative to the SEC or the the Big Ten. Be nice to see Florida luck out and make their way into the big game, but even if they don't I have to tell you that Ohio State vs. Rutgers for the national title will be about as lopsided a championship game as you can imagine. What a letdown it would be.
Louisville,West Virgina, and Rutgers are overrated and might make a (weak)bowl game if they were in the SEC.

I didn't see the first half, but what I saw in the second half was the R defense holding the No. 2 O in the nation to zero points.
