OU's beatdown to USC was an indication of the sub-par year they had the next year.
I think losing about 12 players to the NFL, starting a freshman QB, and having Adrian Peterson injured for good portion of the season had a little to do with it. Also, the four teams that defeated them lost a grand total of 6 games.

Was that essentially a road-game too? :dance2:
They beat a Top 15 ranked Pac 10 team in San Diego. I'd call that just a good win. If you think playing LSU in New Orleans is a neutral site game, I'm glad you don't assist in UT's scheduling.

I think WVa has favorable matchups with Rutgers if Slaton is healthy. Turnovers in a hostile environment (if you call a stadium of 41,000 hostile) buried the Mountaineers against the Cards.

Rutgers relies on smaller speedy players that are likely to gamble and overpursue against a running team like WVa. The WVa defense will not struggle with Rutgers as much as they did with the Cards.

If Rutgers wins out, they get a shot in the title game. I simply don't think they can handle White and Slaton.

BCS suits are saying, "what the hell is a Rutgers?"

remember when UT won the NC, wasn't it Baylor that was undefeated and left at the altar? or maybe it was Tulane...

great win for the Scarlet Knights, it's about time New Jersey has something to cheer about.

Boise State is also undefeated so far. but they'll get screwed by the BCS just like Rutgers.

Boise State isn't getting screwed. They're nothing but a glorified I-AA team.

They would be out of the BCS but I wouldn't call it being screwed out of it. From Rutger's fan perspective maybe.

last year...so back when Georgia was fielding a pretty formidable team? not the same team that was recently beaten by UT, Vanderbilt and Kentucky?

Boise State returns a good portion of the same personnel. The score was closer than the competition merited. I pray Boise State gets a BCS bid and gets matched with Texas or Michigan. Then, when they get beat 2,777 to -19, I'll never have to hear again from all the geniuses about how "underrated" the Broncos are.

I don't think people fully understand how fast and physical SEC defenses are. Even a suspect defense like ours is light years ahead of what Boise State faces on a weekly basis.

I watched a good portion of the game last night. You know -- and I say this not because Florida is alive again for the NT game thanks to the Scarlet Kaniggets -- if Rutgers were in the SEC, they'd be 6-3 right about now. At best.

Sorry to any Big East fans, but that conference just isn't competitive relative to the SEC or the the Big Ten. Be nice to see Florida luck out and make their way into the big game, but even if they don't I have to tell you that Ohio State vs. Rutgers for the national title will be about as lopsided a championship game as you can imagine. What a letdown it would be.

I agree law. I was happy to see Rutgers win that game because it proves a point about the Big Eeast IMO...but I can't help but me upset that UT is no longer in a position to capitalize off of the Big East tripping over itself.
