Lowly Florida

Wasn't just referring to your post .... this thread has been heavy with deferential Florida comments.
Stating three teams Tennessee plays play a different style of football is hardly a Florida "slurp-fest." You were pointing toward me for no reason. Guess some troll got you whimpering from the politics thread again today. Try to easy up on that stuff. You won't be icky to people all the time and will feel better.

Bro, the dude with 60-post dating back to 2012 with only one person ever agreeing with them, ever, thinks you are awesome. Let that sink in.

I just hope we have learned something and do not give him a huge buyout until then.
Agree. Going forward we definitely need any contract extension and pay raises to be performance based and probably not decided until going into the last year of a current contract, maybe before the last year if performances at been exceptional and warrants it. I certainly would not extend a contract for more than 2-3 years. aTm and Kentucky have bitten themselves hard with fruitless 10 year deals, a lesson every AD should take note of.

Unfortunately the talent we lost were ole cornbread’s boys
True, but to be fair Heupel’s had to scramble to put together a recruiting class when he first got here. The kids that are true freshmen now I think are very talented (some are getting good playing time and contributing) as is this current recruiting class. I’ll change my tune if we get into 2025/2026 still suffering blow out losses to our rivals. Next year probably will be tough for us, but maybe these young guys really step up.

Despite their record this year, Florida is better than UT. They proved it on the field. It does us no good to consider them "lowly" when they beat UT. Just highlights how far we have to go. If Florida had a better head coach, with the advantages they have in recruiting they would be right up there with LSU as 2nd tier program behind Georgia and Alabama.

Florida is competing with Mizzou way better than we did

Florida is full of young kids more than UT and I bet Florida makes it back to national relevance faster than UT.
We seem to just make excuses bc inexperience and all. Sad

Until July, Heupel was also recruiting with an NCAA investigation into Level 1 violations, which the UT administration had already admitted to, hanging over the program. There was a reason nobody wanted this job in January of 2021.

Yep. Once again we get blown out by a Florida team that won't even make a bowl game. Getting pathetic how many excuses our fanbase can make up for mediocrity when do far Heupel's best was all because of the guys we had in here and nothing to do with his juvenile scheme.v

Yeah .... and they had a favorable schedule this year. Under Drink, they have been terrible on the road and I won't be surprised if they lose to Arkansas. So far, their only road games have been Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Georgia.
They have won the close ones also, KState & Fla. Last yr they lost similar games to Auburn (kicker missed the xpt) & Kentucky (crazy call)

So Heupel gets no credit? LOL. For the record, Tennessee's losses were heavy among starters, but they only had 4 offensive players drafted in 2023. Hendon Hooker had been benched at Virginia Tech. Jalin Hyatt was just a 3 star WR coming out of high school. He did not have an offer from South Carolina (his home state school.) Last year's team was not loaded with NFL talent.

Florida ain’t even gonna be bowl eligible. We all got young kids. Their trajectory seems to be heading towards Mile 0 in Key West

They played Mizzou a hell of a lot better than we did. Their young kids have talent and heart and don't look dead like ours. They may have a bad record but they are in better shape than we are

Call me an optimist, but I truly believe we were a quarterback away from being 10 and 1 this year. We should have beat Florida, Alabama, and Missouri. I'm excited to see what Nico brings to this program.

Bunch of Gator ass kissing going on .... With Mertz out next week, it looks like a 5-7 season for them. This would mark their 3rd straight losing season. Since the infamous LSU shoe toss game in December of 2020, that program is just 17-23. Let's ease up on the Florida slurp-fest.
