Now it will be interesting to see if Alexis Morris and Reese can be reined in by Kim Mulkey and LSU AD. Can LSU shut these girls up at this point? The image they are casting on their basketball team will appeal to many recruits, but will alienate others. Don't think I've seen anything like this since Rodman retired.

Invoking the Obama's and speaking for the entire team and athletic dept. about skipping the White house is much worse than the in-game and after game distractions.

If these girls did get to meet Michelle Obama, I doubt they would enjoy it. She would grab those two by the ear and ream them out royally.
I wasn’t aware that she had rejected an apology from the FLOTUS or had not allowed her in the locker room. These actions are just confirming what I thought about her antics at the end of the game, she’s making it all about her, and her coach and AD are kowtowing to her. Since when does she or any player male or female make University decisions like that?
Also, this is a headache the Obamas don’t want. It’s one thing if the POTUS is from the other party . It’s another if the current POTUS was your former VEEP.

Makes you wonder if she would be ok visiting the Bush's or Clinton's. Or will she only visit the Obama's?

To me this isn't about race as much as class. These girls have none, and any girl on that team with class will have to fight for people to see it. They name dropped the Obamas to simply be $h!+ stirrers.
I would simply love to be in the meetings in the LSU AthDept. If they can't shut these girls up, it makes LSU women's basketball look like a miserable show run by the kids. I am starting to think these two girls do run the program. Nothing but crickets from the bosses in Baton Rouge.

Not so fast my friend

Saw this story this morning.

These two girls, put themselves ahead of the team when they were called out. Basketball has a lot of Kabuki theater aspects now. WWE style taunts are in pretty much every game. I don't enjoy watching that. If my son did that, I'd have to put him in his place. Too many delusions of self-importance, in sports, and online too.

Every university will have to face this same situation sooner or later. Controlling college athletes gets more fraught everyday. Coaches can drop the hammer, but the portal allows talent to bolt. If they are good enough, they'll find a team willing.

I don't give a fig what most college athletes think about the world or life, in general, unless they talk about how much they love the VOLS. There are some great kids, but like life in general, seems like it is a struggle to hear them, sometimes.

Were there really articles or statements by reporters calling her “too ghetto” or a “thug?” If so, that’s the issue.

I haven’t been paying enough attention to know if Clark was doing that stuff too. To be honest, I don’t care either way. We’ve strayed so far from any pretense of character and sportsmanship as a whole that it’s actually become fairly silly to even bring those things up in a serious way. The college game (and pros) have become an entertainment industry closer to the WWE. Even in youth sports, these kinds of buffoonish antics are largely the norm. I’ve seen it while watching my son play at a highly competitive level in travel baseball here in Texas. It’s crazy.

The best is when one of these idiot SEC fanbases calls out another for being classless or for having a classless program. Like these other dumba$$ schools don’t have literally thousands of examples of their teams and fans being complete D-bags. This is part of the reason I go scorched death on all the other SEC teams. Rooting for those other teams just because they have an SEC patch on their jerseys is just dumb.

There have always been trash-talkers, etc. but we, as a society, have collectively decided that childish crap is ok - or even preferred from an entertainment perspective. It sells tickets and gets the ratings, so it’s hard to argue, I suppose. Just the way things are nowadays. I can’t say that I’m overly thrilled about any of it, but my love for competition and the Volunteers keeps me watching despite it all.

I would love to see the actual articles where anyone said she was too ghetto or hood. I find it hard to believe in todays society anyone would say that to a black woman.

I also find it difficult to believe, but with the way things are today, it could have occurred. And I have reason to NOT believe her assertion. Or there might have been statements made out of print that were overheard. In any case. That kind of crap is out of line.

She said it herself. She blew it out of proportion, just like every comment she made, until she went silent. Hard to blame people for agreeing.

“I don’t fit in a box that y’all want me to be in. I’m too hood. I’m too ghetto. But when other people do it, y’all say nothing," Reese said in a post-game press conference.

She exaggerated her comments. Many said she had no class and Caitlin Connor did. I disagree, it was classless when they both did the taunting.
The truth is Caitlin Connor started it by taunting Louisville players with the 'Can't see me hand gesture'.
Most commentors insulting Reese were probably unaware that Reese was mimicking Connor's taunts in the Louisville game. If so, the commentors should have enough class to backtrack and bundle the two players' actions as equivalent.

I hated seeing it from both of them. I am instantly tired of taunting from the men or the women.

Angel getting into Caitlin Clark's face, showing finger where a ring will be (not the "bad finger") and when Miss Clark turned away she kept coming around to her face 2-3 times.

The team not getting in the postgame line to shake hands, one girl using the f-word with a mic in her face, others impeding Iowa's walk to to locker room.

Umm, “Girls” basketball? How about Women’s Basketball. Geez OP. At least try and disguise it. Or not, I guess. I’ve been a lurker on this board for over 15 years and found this title so repulsive I felt the need to finally comment.

This is pretty funny. Anytime you can relevantly name-drop Snuffaluffagus, It's ON! The actress is a decent likeness, but they really did not do AR's eyelashes justice.

Fair enough. Very Old Habit. I refer to the Men as Boys' basketball as well. It is a sign most of us aren't young like these players anymore.
When you and your female friends reach a certain age, they will love you for calling them a girl. Trust me.

That's a hilarious conclusion.
I am a Gen X liberal who has been attacked for being a communist and disgrace multiple times on this forum since Covid hit.
I am a three tour Air Force officer (7 yrs in OSI) who supports the ERA and cannot even attend holidays with family due to their constant espousal of right wing conspiracy theories and BS.
Now, I am a liberal who sees sensitivity to labels as a mistake.
Thanks, for making my wife guffaw when I showed her that post in church.

I am critical of these two LSU players Because they deemed to speak for their teammates and program. They could not act like they've been there before. It appears they have fallen back into line.
