"The rising junior was slated to compete for the starting quarterback spot this spring, but he appears to be the odd man out of a five-man competition that will reportedly place a heavy focus on mobility and the read option. The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Rivers is a traditional drop-back passer."
I'll pass on him. He just doesn't fit our type of offense at all.
He couldn't start at LSU so we should bring him here and play him and waste one of Ferguson's years? No.
I also hate his brother.
We don't need him but the "he didn't start at LSU therefore we don't need him" logic is stupid. He set behind a likely NFL QB and probably guaranteed QB before his injury. So because he couldn't beat out Mettenberger he's no good? Like I said, I see no reason to take him but we had very little to ZERO QB production last year. So it's not like we should be sold on anyone.
It's simple. Worley sucks, and none of the other three are truly ready to start. Let's grab him.
Every time a QB decides to transfer, VolNation goes crazy and ask if we'll go after him, so I'll feed into the frenzy. Thoughts on the LSU backup QB looking to transfer? He'd be able to play without sitting out because he graduates at the end of this semester. Report: LSU backup QB Stephen Rivers will transfer | CollegeFootballTalk
He was there long enough to graduate and never played, seems like he's not good enough to bring in here for 1 year, let Ferguson or Dobbs get going.
