LSU refused Dr.Jill in their locker room because Biden didn't pick them in the bracket

That was a Black woman who was volunteering at the final four prior to the national championship game that made these comments. She said Alexis Morris was the sweetest girl on the team, but distanced herself away from Angel Reese. The woman said Angel was Rude, Obnoxious, and rude to her child. But right there you go must have been something Racist.

Okay, racism is defined as "the process by which systems and policies create inequitable opportunities and outcomes for people based on their racial classification'
The old "one drop" rule or segregated restaurants are examples of racism.

Angel's comments are not racist because they have no structural influence. I think you mean to say her comments are prejudiced or racially biased.

And, it is obvious enough that there is a racial subtext to her antagonism toward Clark and Iowa, an almost all white team in a very white state, and her feelings of being insulted by the media: "you all say I am too ghetto...."

The Jill Biden gaffe certainly inflamed things because it begs the question of why would you suddenly want to invite the losing team to the WH. I have no idea about Biden's motivation but it certainly lends to itself to a racialized reading of privileging whiteness.

What we are seeing is a perfect storm of a young person who is suddenly cast into the spotlight and has an awareness of how she and her team have been racially stereotyped, along with South Carolina with whom she stands in solidarity.

But Angel is clearly not handling all of these flashpoints in the most diplomatic or polished PR way. There is an immaturity in her responses, not accepting an apology and so forth. But, that is also a good reason to not place too much emphasis on what a 20 year kid who is struggling to "figure it out" says off the cuff.

But in the world now driven and divided by social media, everything becomes the line-in-the-side for signalling which side you are on the ongoing cyber Civil War.

My God, we are in agreement. I need a drink :). I see a lot of her behavior as signalling a lack of maturity. She is being very absolute and making either-or in her statements and she is being quite egocentric in the "I will show you" (and I am the center of attention) way. She is acting more like a typical 15 year old who is made at her parents for not letting her go to the party.
Might need to make it a double.

I haven’t seen her being rude to children, the same people making racist comments on her page are probably the same ones spreading lies. I don’t care about what the press says, we all know they have an agenda, I’ve seen numberous outlets bring her in for interviews and I doubt they would if they though she was dumb like u said.

Nobody is spreading lies. I watched her said to Biden, " I'm not gona forgive, I rather go visit Obama. And, I commented, gurl, grow up.. picking bracket is never a big deal. They're lucky that they were placed in an easy bracket.

What a car wreck. This feels like events have overtaken Angel and it's (she's) spiraling out of control. Everyday it's something to keep it going, she can't quit what she's created, even if she wanted to. She's started to be used everyway to Sunday by folks with all kinds of agendas. Right now it seems she's loving and soaking in every second of her 15 mins. When you're 20 and called a cultural hero for your race, especially bc of a spate of bad behavior, it's a head trip. I pray there's a caring, wise adult, and I believe her Mom is, that can pad the inevitable fall, when everyone is sick of her and drop her like a rock. This has potential to not end well.

Shame on every racist troll everywhere supplying Angel with the fuel for her fire.

As far as her endorsements, I hope she cleans up quick and I'm sure she will. BC right now they're coming hard and fast off the 15 mins, but political and cultural controversy does not a successful endorsement campaign make. Who's got a better long term NIL future, Angel or the new rep of Mercedes of Knoxville?

That sort of is Mulkey's job too, helping her players negotiate media minefields but that skill ain't one of Kim's strong suits, just ask Brittany Griner

Not going to defend Reese’s nonsense but I would be upset too if I were lsu. They definitely deserved to go there alone

If Iowa won, they would deserve to go on their own as well.
I agree, but I believe that both Clark and Resse both exhibited bush league in their behavior towards other teams. You win with honor and not with trash talk. That really takes away from the game.

Well written. That said, I know a lot of people who don't follow sports period. They don't know the difference between FGs and TDs or charges and blocks Superbowls and Stanley cups... If Jill Biden is one of them and her appearance was just that, an appearance it might help explain her comments. On Jilll Biiden's part I with she responded directly not thru her spokeswoman. On Reese's part hopefully in the future she will learn to act not react in these situations as well as life in general.

. I think Reese and LSU are doing too much and Kim wouldn't stop their nonsense
I would be pissed to if the president, First Lady or anyone else pondered to bring the losers to the White House to. Everyone loved Iowa and Caitlin Clark and what they done. But do you think that if Iowa would have won, Jill would have floated the idea of bringing LSU because of good “sportsmanship”? We all know this answer. The Xidenz didn’t expect LSU to win and it backfired, and they they tried to reward participation trophies. Is the Biden’s floating the Idea brining SDSU when they bring Uconn?

They won. They still own the court . They can say whatever they want. Congrats on a great run despite having a psycho coach.

What drama would have occurred if people like Keith Olberman didn’t say anything or if Jill didn’t want to invite Iowa to the White House?
Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, is it? Did I point fingers at 1 side? No, I don't care about either side both are doing it for attention.

Yeah, we definitely wouldn't want to skyrocket to the top of women's basketball again - that would be terrible. After all, all that matters is that our players don't say stupid stuff. Winning is overrated. We should even devote some practice time to training in manners, perhaps have an etiquette seminar, maybe some networking stuff. Brilliant.
I am not one who will give up the principles on which I was raised. I realize that many today have no problem with disobeying the laws and principles on which our society was based. Greed has become the basis on which many people base their actions. I am proud to say, I will not let greed be what drives my life.

I am not a fan of some of Angel's comments, but she has a great game, determination, and I believe love for her teammates. There is a part of me that thinks the he won't accept the Biden's invitation and will go to the Obama's instead could be attributed to her just being excited about just winning a national championship and being overboard with it. On the other hand, those decisions should be talked about as a team in private first, so if I was a coach, I would hate to see that my star player already in the press talking about declining the White House visit. So many people don't handle immense well. I do wonder if her incredible success with NIL and winning the national championship may eventually cause issues at LSU. She has said she wasn't sure how people would handle her personality while planning to LSU last year (is his what happened at Maryland?) but she ultimately jibed with Morris and crew as many of them had really rough backgrounds. They will have a new cast of characters there next year, so it is possible they don't mesh as well. Also, if she doesn't deal with success well (i.e., even gets more swag or gets more demanding of things going her way, or less respectful of Kim's authority etc.), I could see LSU having a real difficult time being a repeat champion next year. She has always been intense, but if she got more so Kim could lose the positive team vibe LSU had this year.

No, Reese is being very transparent. She said LSU didn't want to see Jiil Biden because Joe didn't pick LSU to even get out of Baton Rouge. When Jill Biden pulled her "we should invite Iowa too," and then subsequently reached out to apologize, Reese said they didn't accept her apoogy. She added in her interview that Iowa could go to the White House, and that LSU could visit the Obamas instead.

She's being very transparent here. People can either choose to see her agenda and agree with it or not, but Reese is being very transparent.
Yep. As a wise man told me once, “You can’t polish a turd.”

Someone asked an interesting question about what a "thug" is? How does one define "thug"? I have thought about this in some detail in the past. A "thug" to me is someone who preys upon those weaker than themselves in order to enrich themselves in some manner. I would be interested what the word means or implies to others. I don't think the word applies to college students playing a sport.

I can see Clark going to the White House. She was the player of the year. I do not see the entire team going.

I just saw Angel Reese’s Twitter feed. In her comments she’s trolled by bigots. That needs to stop immediately.
Twitter is legit a place but nothing but trolling

Not saying it justifies the comments being made but thats why I personally don't use social media all that often. The world of social media which has its strengths, but has lots of drawbacks.
