I’m really excited ti see Springer, Johnson and J3 today. I think our offense is clicking. If Pons is back, that will help tremendously on the defensive end. I can’t tell if some of you are trying to lower expectations or if you really think we’re going to lose.

We are getting better! Some teams play the same all season or only marginally get better. Look at us! What a time to get hot!! I think we can make a run, fellas and ladies.

Love your attitude this just feels like Florida game 2.0

If you look at our four losses (bama, florida, mizzou, ole miss), they are four teams with strong guard play. LSU may have the best guard combo we'll see all season between smart and thomas. Vescovi has improved significantly this season, but I'm not sure he's gonna be able to stay in front of either of those two.

Was it last year they had the LSU fan referee and is he still running the SEC courts? That was a frustrating game a cheater coach and a planted ref. I'm like some other posters really want this one.

Then have Springer, Keon, and Pons guard them?

Most important game left on UT's schedule, imo, and no game I want to win more than this one. LSU is a bad match-up for UT, it's in Baton Rouge and they have owned us, recently. A win tomorrow would be mad impressive and would really mean, UT has turned the corner, offensively, imo. Because, to beat LSU, we have to score, a lot
We also have to keep turnovers to 10 or less. If Pons is out, I don’t know how we compete with them on the boards. This game is worrisome.

Not sure it's the most important, but it wouldn't be seen as a "bad loss". Having said that, I'll be curious to see what Barnes has up his sleeve to handle that 2-2-1 press LSU is gonna run at us. If he puts the ball in Vescovi's hands...well...it's gonna be ugly. I'd spot Vescovi somewhere down on the offensive end and let Springer, Keon and JJJ handle the ball. This is a game that I'd kill to have a guy like Chandler on the roster to plug in. Gonna be a tough one to be sure.

That is a great question. Do we know who the refs for this game will be? I can't think of a bigger SEC matchup today and it is on TV. I'm not even going to type his name for fear that he will, in fact, be doing our game although I think I remember some conflict and discussions that he might not be doing anymore of our games. I pray that's true. Although, as bad as he is, the SEC is littered with chitty refs. I'm fairly confident we'll get at least one who can't stand UT and/or Barnes in this one.

This is a game that looked like a sure L just a week or two ago... hopefully we can ride the freshman momentum, tough place for us to play historically

I think it is going to be tough to win. If our freshmen show up to play, that could be the difference. Luckily, the stands won't be full.

This, and Auburn, are two tough places to play late in the season.

So Vescovi just doesnt play today? Or he guards Days/Watford in the post? Seems like a bold strategy but I like your thinking.
not if he can’t guard anyone as you suggested. Give him some minutes and if indeed he’s overmatched on defense then give his minutes to Gaines. I personally think his defense is much improved but the proofs in the pudding as they say.

LSU doesn’t have any shot blockers. I would go into the paint early and often and encourage Springer and Keon to drive. LSU has 4 primary scorers. Get one out with foul trouble and then force Thomas to be a low % volume shooter.

I disagree with Bert saying LSU is the best team Tennessee has played, I think Alabama is the best team Tennessee has played.
