You cannot win and let at least 10 layups or more without any defense at all. Refs lets LSU as always mug and hack all teams to death especially at home! We did not deserve to win this game with the helter skelter offense and defense!Tennessee (14-5,7-5 SEC) -vs- LSU (13-6,8-4 SEC) (PDF) - University of Tennessee Athletics
22-62, 35%
Keon missed 10 shots. Hard to make them when refs let defenders hack on every drive.
The refs were terrible. LSU scored on three separate layups with obvious traveling violationsYou cannot win and let at least 10 layups or more without any defense at all. They might as well not had refs. Only 6 total fouls in first half and LSU was hacking and slapping. Our defense didn’t respond to the way the game was called. Too soft. The refs were terrible. LSU scored on three separate layups with obvious traveling violations
Smart vs.Vescovi up top was just a gimme too many times. Vescovi couldn’t come close to stopping him. Pons and Fulky basically no-shows based on injury.....or whatever is happening with Fulky. You cannot win and let at least 10 layups or more without any defense at all. I’m really excited ti see Springer, Johnson and J3 today. I think our offense is clicking. If Pons is back, that will help tremendously on the defensive end. I can’t tell if some of you are trying to lower expectations or if you really think we’re going to lose.
We are getting better! Some teams play the same all season or only marginally get better. Look at us! What a time to get hot!! I think we can make a run, fellas and ladies.
If you look at the stats from the game it was almost even across the board. We actually out rebounded them by 2.They just simply shot better than we did.I think it was 48 or 50% to like 35 %.Tough to win when you shoot 35%.Let’s not blame the refs for this loss. The refs let them play. The Vols could have played more physical, too.
We lost the game with inconsistent offense and poor defense. Call it schemes or the lack of post play, but we got beat soundly and it never felt like UT was going to get into a groove. We have athletes but too many scoring droughts and many forces shots yesterday.
But the refs didn’t cost us the game.
Go Vols!
Allowing egregious traveling violations isn't "letting them play" when it creates or stops the momentum of one team. I'm not blaming the loss on the refs. I'm only stating the fact that it helped LSU far more than us. The no-call on the Johnson drive was just one of those moments. He got hammered from 2 sidesLet’s not blame the refs for this loss.
