‘23 LSU transfer OT Zalance Heard (Tennessee)

This one has the feel of a NIL holdout. If so, not sure I like our chances. That's why I think AP is so wishy washy, and conservative here in his lack of prediction.

And why the resident insiders felt good, and are now silent.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst.
Do you really think they anyone with good connections in the AD rush to volnation.com with an hour by hour update to make sure the fans are pacified? Nuggets were dropped yesterday, with an approximate timeline. 24 hours or so, from yesterday afternoon. Go outside and touch some grass

lol if we land him you should change your avatar to chicken little for one month

Oh, a purebred Innernet Hosscat, eh?

I dont even know what touch grass means, nor do I care.

Ive seent this movie 1000 times, even with the resident experts. AP said 60%. No ball from Fong.

One month, chicken little avatar (which I pick) if we land him.

If we don’t, I’ll get a $100 vol club subscription. You in?

as amusing as that is, and I did chuckle fwiw. Ill kindly pass. Take your Vol Club donation and give it to local homeless shelter, lots of cold people out there.

Still sticking to my guns here. Cautiously optimistic, but, longer it goes the more BVS kicks in.

on that note USC and UCLA moving to the Big-10 is kinda scary. There are only 3 teams in major colleges in mega markets. UCLA, USC, and Miami. IF someone gets their act together and organizes their collectives they will be almost impossible to compete with in NIL. Miami is stuck in the ACC and UCLA is the clippers in that breakdown to USC's Lakers. Imagine how scary that is? Hey you wanna be an actor, rapper date supermodels? Come to USC. Get NIL deals with stores on Rodeo Drive. No idea why no agency in Hollywood has organized it yet.
You will never take the California out of USC and UCLA, flash in the pan but what athlete wants to live in LA and deal with that hoopla of a state. It is good for a year but these schools and athletes dealing in the cold environments of the B10 now on their schedule, the smog, traffic and libs in California is a joke. LA will suck the life out of you. Better stepping off places to reach the NFL than this example Lincoln Riley got eaten alive out there.

You have nothing to lose. Just an avatar

Wiltfong doesn’t do portal crystal balls unless is super 100 percent obvious we’re the person is going to go

Probably about as positive as it’s going to get with AP these days after he’s been burnt by kids so many times.
i think that has him jaded more than anything the staff has perceived to have done/not done. and i think fan reaction to his "misses" wears on him some. i don't think he's negative toward the program, but i do think he's a bit gunshy on talking about too much, because he's seen things that were supposed certainties, fall apart last minute.

i think his criticism about the recruiting is fair and usually pretty accurate. and i've never heard him outright call out a particular coach for being a bad recruiter, at least as a judgement. I have heard him talk about guys that don't like recruiting or something.

plus, he's been hanging out with Hubbs for 20 years. whatever Eeyore you have in you, i'm sure Hubbs can bring it out, eventually.

Excellent advice and the ROI is far, far greater.

We are already seeing this at UT, I don’t know for sure that the massive increase in applications for admission are partly related to athletic improvements in W/L over the past two years- but whatever the cause it is enormous. I think they said only 37% of current freshman applicants will be accepted. Average GPA for newest freshmen is over 4.0, and we don’t have near enough dorm space. I’m sure a good amount of the increase is because of the college of Business.
the front porch looks a loooooot nicer these days. Tennessee is a "cool school" again. gotta good friend of mine who's daughter is a freshmen this year. there's several other kids she knows from her high schools and social circles that are also freshmen there this year (all out of state).....can vouch for the dorm issue. my niece is applying to TN (she lives in PA)....

there's been a lot of improvements/upgrades at UT...but last year's football season played a part. make no mistake about it.

If vols get heard we become a playoff contender easily.
No one knows that including you .Ridiculous statement because no one knows how he will play once he or anyone else arrives including the freshmen OT's signed this year.Fact is they may someone on the roster now that would outplay him and start .

Thanks for sharing! I’ve always been one who thinks that recruiting rankings don’t matter nearly as much as developing the talent. Not to say recruiting isn’t crucial to a program, but I’d rather have a coach who can develop 3 and 4*s into nfl caliber talent than someone who gets the flashy recruits and nothing really pans out from that. Michigan’s success gives me hope for Heupel. Of course our fanbase just needs to remain patient…
Heard on the radio this morning that Michigan's composite roster talent, according to 247, is 14th this year. Florida was 15th.

Goes to show that it's about identifying/evaluating talent, getting guys who fit your systems/schemes, and culture, and developing those guys at a high level.
