LSU/UK - did "Flagrant Foul" merit an ejection?

..honestly believe it was Anthony Davis' intent to flop to get a call? If so, please point to it in this photo
Your still is in the wrong spot. The LSU player tipped off that the foul was coming just prior to the photo you posted.

I believe he would've gone to the floor even if he was just tapped on the shoulder, yes.
I do think it ended up being harder than intended and a flagrant personal should be called. No ejection - IMHO.

The LSU player made his intent known and the KY player saw it.
I can't get the Youtube video to stop at the perfect point, but he does look back to see the LSU player coming prior to the picture you posted.

from the other angle, you see the LSU player say (yell?) something just before he makes the foul, it's after that the KY player looks back.

I really don't have a dog in this fight, but your last statement strikes me odd. So in other words, if he had walked up to Davis at the free throw line and said "I'm going to kick you in the nuts" and made Davis aware of his intent, then there is no ejection and it's somehow Davis' fault for crumpling to the floor in pain because he was told first?

The original question asks if the LSU player should have been ejected from the game for committing a flagrant technical foul.
I don't think so. I do think that the flagrant personal foul was the correct call.
Your scenario is apples/oranges. It's not the KY player's fault that the foul was committed - ever. The issue is to the degree of the foul, always against the LSU player.

IMHO, That KY player was going to hit the floor no matter how hard (or not) the LSU player hit him. Players are taught to embellish fouls to get a call, you see it routinely.

He was NOWHERE near the ball, not within 4 feet of it. It was a deliberate physical foul with no intent toward making a play on the ball whatsoever, therefore it warrants the ejection. If he touched the ball during that foul, then he would not have been ejected.

It was a hard foul that got away from him a little bit. No way was he trying to hurt Davis . He did about the only thing he could, to foul and make sure Davis didn't score.

There are much easier ways to foul other than grabbing the shoulders and yanking down. He could have just hit the arms or at least try to jump up with him and hit NEAR the ball.

He made no move for the ball. Simple as that.

True but wasn't Davis in the act of shooting? If so, a slap on the wrist only leads to 3 points

I think he was. All I know is that you can't just grab like that...give up the two points (if you cant just slap) and dont hurt a guy accidentally.

You can't effing horse collar tackle someone without even making a play on the ball and not get ejected, act of shooting or not.

His intent was to drag him to the floor, which he did. To White's credit he wrote Cal and Davis a letter to apologize - Davis had just made him look stupid several plays in a row (including that run-out dunk where he stole the pass) and White just lost composure. I think it may not have merited an additional suspension (imposed by LSU) but the flagrant 2 was the correct call and that is an automatic ejection.
