It’s really not that hard to understand. Kelly pressured the kid to get on the lift. Disregarded the safety of the kid just to get some practice film. At the very least, it’s horribly irresponsible. What happened to BK forced him up on the lift argument? Why are you changing or moving the goal posts? Why do I have do defend a new argument or stance simply because you can’t defend yours?
Are you now saying that the Kelly didn’t indeed take away the student’s freedom to choose / consent in the ordeal?
No one is gonna flog you for changing your position….. i know we live in that day and age.
your not asking me to quit my job,, your not asking to quit putting food in my kids mouth, but you did not order me to also ,, I dont work for you,, if i did I would be forced to agree with your belief no matter if it was right or wrong.. so I can pay my billsWell that is certainly your choice to make.
Add to that, there is no chance that the ND administration is going to blame its head football coach for anything. They found any way they could to look the other way. Again Kelly had the chance to do the right thing and didn’t. Could have told the kid not to go up because of the wind. At the end of the day, Kelly was at fault and he deserves the criticism.I have your read poor take on this subject multiple times on this board. Everyone knows if the kid refused an order from the HC of Norte Dame he’s fired. So yes he had a choice to make; risk his safety or continue to hold a job that he hoped to pursue further. Some choice.

I don't think anyone said he "murdered" a student. But he was directly responsible for that student's death.I agree with this. I just don’t agree with the people out there saying every year “Brian Kelly murdered a student”……
But there is a clear difference in saying he deserves some blame vs saying he’s solely responsible or saying he murdered a college student.
Wow...
Here we go again....
Brian Kelly forced a student to ride a scissor lift to film the practice under threat of ruin of life. Yes? No? (It's the former, btw)
Said scissor lift in wind is "unsafe at any speed" (I'm a safety guy and hate those things.....)
Student dies....
Brian Kelly says "Oh Well.... no biggie, right?"

Its a testament to just how corrupt things are that no one was charged with anything. Not even negligence.
I am late to this argument. Is the argument that Kelly is guilty of a crime or that ND is civilly liable? The former seems unlikely, but the latter seems unquestionable.Add to that, there is no chance that the ND administration is going to blame its head football coach for anything. Did the student choose to go on the lift yes or no? It’s the former btw.
