LSU vs. ND

Actually, ND doesn't just play in great bowls. They have played in 5 big bowls in the 9 game streak(Rose, Orange, Fiesta, Sugar) but have also played in 4 lesser bowls including Insight.com bowl and Cotton(maybe Gator as well).

i think NCSU beat them in the Gator bowl a few years ago.

Yeah, so aside from the big 5, they have lost 2 Cottons, 1 Insight.com, and 1 Gator. There goes Lou's excuse.

Just to get it all out there...

Notre Dame's last 9 bowl games

2007 Sugar Bowl - LSU 41, Notre Dame 14
2006 Fiesta Bowl - Ohio State 34, Notre Dame 20
2004 Insight Bowl - Oregon State 38, Notre Dame 21
2003 Gator Bowl - NC State 28, Notre Dame 6
2001 Fiesta Bowl - Oregon State 41, Notre Dame 9
1999 Gator Bowl - Georgia Tech 35, Notre Dame 28
1997 Independence Bowl - LSU 27, Notre Dame 9
1996 Orange Bowl - Florida State 31, Notre Dame 6
1995 Fiesta Bowl - Colorado 41, Notre Dame 24

Not only have they lost, but only one of those games was withing 2 touchdowns, and the game that was was actually a game where they were completely overrun.

What a game! Did LSU live up to all the hype or what?
I'd like to see an LSU/Ohio State matchup or it would have been nice to seen LSU and Boise State playing.
I think LSU is or has been playing the best football in the country since they lost to Florida. I also think the Vols should have beaten LSU too. Crazy? Maybe. I'm all VOL! BIG ORANGE PRIDE!

What more proof do you need that ND survives on reputation more than real ability. Five top traditional bowl games (of the 9) all with blow-out losses. They were in those games due to sweetheart deals with the BCS or general overratedness. The next time I hear an ND fan whine about the media being against them I think I'll puke!

Think of it this way, there are losses to Gerry DiNardo and Chuck Amato on that list.
all the sudden i feel better about our situation....lol.

that really puts that in perspective doesnt' it?

Our bowl losses of recent past are to Ralph Friedgen and Tommy Bowden. That makes me say ouch, too.
reality. what a pain in the a$$.

though, i think Ralph isn't all that bad of a coach. Not great, but he's been solid at MD. Bowden on the other hand........eh.
