Luaren Cox to Baylor

Warlick had done a pretty good job of recruiting--I will give her that. I'm not keen on her or her staff as coaches, but she has done pretty well at recruiting. The program's slippage started years ago under PS, not Warlick, and as a result of mediocre/poor recruiting. Now it is time to reestablish ourselves as a power program. Many top recruits want to play for a program that has a good chance of winning a title. That is a motivation. If you are not showing them that you can do that, top recruits will lose interest in you as a program. That's a fact. We've got pedigree, we've got some talent; now is the time to put a little more polish on the UT reputation. Winning is the best recruiting tool.

Let's see. Pat won two NC's within 3 years of retirement but you still keep making this assertion. And it still makes no sense.

it's true. Didn't Summitt retire in 2012? That would make it four years not "within three." Either way, our recruiting fell off significantly between the time Parker left and the time PS retired. And we were lucky to have grabbed Bobbitt from the junior college ranks during the Parker years. And I believe we went close to a decade without a title before we landed Parker. Are you disputing the fact that our recruiting in PS's last four years was not good? I was trying to give Warlick credit for improving our recruiting. People regularly suggest that things fell apart after PS left, which isn't true. I would say that the program slippage started around 2000. The Parker years were a happy interregnum between two lengthy stretches of less than championship form.

Lucky to have grabbed Bobbitt? That's part of finding a piece to your team to go to the next level. Even though we didn't win a championship between 98-08, we still went to Final Fours every year. If Taurasi wasn't playing we could have won more lol.

We didn't go to Final Four in 99, 01, or 06.

What's this poor recruiting under PS didn't she not pull n #1 classes in 04 and 08... Poor recruiting is when you don't get squat lol... But you know what, I wish Amber Harris chose Tenn over Xavier.. That would've been one lethal combo with Harris and Parker
RIGHT! I don't understand why he keeps saying that!

I was hoping the same thing happened as well. I was shocked she chose Xavier honestly

Moriah was the only smart one to leave Texas... she can be with her family after this upcoming season

So stating the obvious = "bashing" all of the sudden. LOL. The interwebz are such a source of amusement.

I just didn't see the point of talking about how Baylor underachieved with only 1 NC when they beat us badly every year and we didn't even make the Final Four.

This is laughable. There are top Texas recruits who leave every year. Read her latest USA Today blog and she genuinely was not sure of her decision until that final recruiting trip to Baylor.

Her and her family should pay back all the money the other schools spent on her. The other 4 schools must have spent $100.000 on recruiting her and the money the family spent on all the thang the schools spent on them. She was going to Baylor all the time.

Pointing out that they underachieved has nothing to do with Tennessee. Your point is totally irrelevant. And it's not a secret by now that Tennessee has been underachieving for years, too. But we never had a player even close to Griner.

Mulkey had, BY FAR, the most physically dominant player in NCAA history on her team, and they were favored to win the NC each of her last three years. They couldn't even get to the FF in two of those years.

I agree and yes they did beat us with Griner but what about all those other years when we beat the hell out of them

Griner and Sims should have been able to win more than one title they got beat by a far inferior team. We were way down from their level those seasons and on paper they had more talent than UConn so yes they underachieved.
