LV 2019 Recruiting Thread

Jackson would be a great backup for Rennia Davis. The potential to start at osu or rutgers is appealing but so is getting adjusted to college as a key backup.

I think she goes to South Carolina or UT

or she comes in compete for Meme spot its vacant next year!

That’s all they do over there, that’s why I quit visiting that site.

What really sickens me is that there are a couple of “Lady Vol fans” over there that indulge in attacking Holly and the team. Its as if they seek acceptance on the site by agreeing and compounding on what their fans have to say about us!

And what shocked me was that Uconn had not met lady vols in finals for so long so, I don't understand the hate towards vols. Then u come to vols board, they all talking about recruits and not insulting other programs.

Maybe they are actually UConn fans pretending to be Lady Vol fans?

I am starting to feel that Jackson may be a SC lean she really loved her visit there. Cooke who knows. Will Gordon get Rogers to be a Lady Vol what a huge pickup that would be for the 2019 class. I think we need a point guard in this class even if we have two good ones.

To be this far along, she should be shooting from the temple by now...collegiate players eat up "shove-shot" shooters. Besides that she is full-on alpha.

Not the best type of player for CHW

I think it's between SC and TN for Jackson. I think Cooke is between SC and Louisville.

I've never thought Cooke was going to come to Tennessee, but I'd be happy to be wrong.

I wouldn't be surprised of Rogers commits this weekend.

I hope you are right? I still remember their visits (TOGETHER) ! Does that not mean anything? Cooke afraid of our point guard situation? Seems to me her skills fit better at UT than SC and a lot of guards at Louisville?

Just hope they both don’t go to SC !!!

If Rogers comitts this weekend???? I think that would end the hope of Cooke....... and maybe Jackson ? JMO

That might give both to SC! ? 🤔

Where do you get that analysis? From the video clip?

Mostly from the clips, yes.
If you know what to look for it is easy to spot.

Did you see the video of Horston. If not watch it...then watch this one.
A "show me" (Cooke) player versus a "show you" (Horston) player.
Cooke was as much the focus as her skills were, Horston never looks at the camera, her skills are what she wanted to show, not herself.

I actually prefer Cooke, for me. I get a ton out of kids that think "they're there" because I can show them "they're not"... Other coaches struggle with these kids.

Chemistry is eminent for CHW and staff.
Same caliber of player, just a different aura.

The SEC set an attendance record for any conference last season, drawing more than 1.1 million fans and sending seven teams to the NCAA Tournament.

you lost me on that one(analysis) Coach J. looking at a 4 minute vid and then divining the future has worse odds than winning the powerball. imho

Horston can play position 1 thru 4. I think Cooke only plays point.

Watching the SEC women’s meetings yesterday. The commentators were talking about a non-positional game ( where everybody is interchangeable positions) . The Missouri coach mentioned this as they do not have a inside game (player) ! This is the type of player (Horston) will be! I also believe Jackson is another player who can play multiple positions. So can Evina, Zaay, Jaz, etc. With our height consistently above six feet .... we should be able to switch on defense ( which is easier than fighting to stay with your (man).. The game is moving in this direction verses the traditional 1,2,3,4,5, positional players.

This leads me to remember watching last year team and wishing we could surround Mercedes with three point shooters. Instead of other teams packing a zone around her and daring us to shoot the three. Sad .... but it worked !
I am hoping our girls worked on their outside game . And the Freshmen can shoot the three ? If we can pressure the other team and run and run and run till the other team has no legs and we just keep on substituting fresh players. We should dominate! Keep recruiting six foot plus players that can play all positions! Going to be interesting... especially if Jackson and Cooke come? LOOK OUT 🤔

If Rogers commits to Tennessee this weekend I think Cooke will no longer be a factor for us. The class would be Saunders, Horston, Key, and Rogers with Jackson still deciding.

If Lou comes back, does this mean we only sign one more this year?

I have thought all along (Jackson) is the wing or 3/4 position player we will need. Right now Burrell is the closest player to relieve Davis?
Brown should not matter to Jackson. She will play the five spot and try to make the other teams big come away from their goal to guard her? JMO
The 2019 class will have Harris, Brown, as seniors and KK, Collins, as our bigs with Key and Saunders coming as Freshmen. None of these six players affects Jackson’s PT! It’s still Davis as the one . JMO.
We need Jackson ..... I can see her and Davis playing together (what a nightmare for the other team ) Davis could leave early ! Or maybe she wants a National Championship?
Recruiting for 2020 not affected as Brown is one year and done this year or next! Should not matter. We will be loaded with bigs (6) but Harris and Saunders will not affect playing time for others ... and there is room for another guard (Cooke or Rogers) and we need Jackson to back up Davis or help inside. Another multiple position player. JMO

Simple answer: If nothing else changes we go into (2019-2020) year with the three verbals and a total of twelve on scholarships. Six of the twelve I would classify as 5’s or Bigs, (Harris, Brown, KK, Collins, Key, Saunders)
Four guards: (Evina, Jaz, Zaay, Horston) Then Davis and Burrell as wings. JMO

That’s three scholarships available for (Jackson, Cooke, or Rogers). Year 2020 (Harris and Brown) graduates plus any of the three scholarships we don’t use for 2019 class. That’s two up to five scholarships available for 2020 class... 🤔

Kamera Harris does have a special skill. She holds the U. S. High School record for the most blocked shots in a season. She broke the previous record set by Brittany Griner. I would use her to selectively disrupt the other team’s game flow, especially opponents that lack height.
