I can understand you crying like babies, but I never thought I would see the day Lady Vols fans would practically be kissing Geno where the sun don't shine.
Get out of your 'Red Queen' mode..
Boo hoo...'off with her head'.off with her head...Off with her head. Sad.
I guess most of just miss the old days of 15-20 years ago which you knew where this team was going to be at the end of the tournament. CPHS on the sidelines getting the most out of the team and players. CHW is lethargic and this shows also on the court.
CHW is reactive versus CPHS who was very much proactive and had the ability to visualize what to anticipate before it happen.
EX CTS could have done the job and this would have probably made his mother proud had he not been thinking with the wrong brain.
Have to feel sorry for the players they were never broken and rebuilt nor were they pushed beyond their potential.
We are stuck with this mess for another year maybe 2.
I agree with you. Kara was spot on with her observation. Her and Doris were stating the obvious. Doris let up with her disdain for the LVs this season because we're no longer a threat. I have to say I didn't mine her calling the games because she was calling Holly out for her failures. Letting the viewers know that CHW is in over head.
I felt bad for Kara Lawson, though. A former LV witnessing the demise of her proud alma mater being run into the ground by her former assistant coach. Kara knows. She's on the inside but she's too professional to say anything negative about Holly.
Her and Kara also ranted about how they don't understand why Mercedes doesn't touch the ball almost every time down the floor.....which is something Holly preaches. However on this board there are many people who Hate Holly for the exact same thing Doris and Kara are preaching for the LadyVols to do. I've come to realize some fans just don't know what the hell is going on....all they know is "Fire Holly"

I don't think fans Hate Holly. CHW has not got control or the attention of this team. Evidently, there is a lack of respect for her. If a player or if players are not doing what you are instructing them to do as a team then you bench them until you get their attention. I would rather lose the games at the first of the season without the teams attention, than to wander aimlessly through the post season not knowing if the players get it, got it or do not.
Nobody wants to lose. When we do lose or don't finish the season with expected improvement from the first game, I expect the coach to step up and state this is on me.
I haven't heard CHW once state this is on "me" and I will fix it or die trying.
A good read except for giving Holly another season to ruin this program.
Unfortunately she ain't going anywhere soon. :glare:
For her sake and the program's she better get them back into the Top 10, win the SEC regular and tournament.
And above all else make it to the Final Four and win it.
Anything less?
FIRE HOLLY!!
I don't think Holly will be fired, but she sure needs to bring in an assistant to teach her team an adequate offense. She is more of a defensive minded coach, although it doesn't really show in the schemes she uses with ther players. IMO she doesn't know her team very well, and what they are capable of because she has them in the wrong defense most of the time IMO. She tried to force these players to play man to man. With players that are horrible defensively like Reynolds, Middleton, and Russell, that wasn't going to work. Those girls were way to slow for man to man defense. She should have made them run and effective zone defense, and man to man depending on matchups.
I laugh at Doris and Kara for asking the question about why the team wasn't getting Mercedes the ball more. A few things...Mercedes is usually the last player down the court. When she arrives, she doesn't get good position to receive the ball. She doesn't really work for position. She just stands and points to the other players to get in position. Or she is at the top of the key setting screens. She gets pushed up to the top of the key by smaller players. She catches the ball in the high post and try to make a move to the basket which she is not quick enough to do. Usually guards strip her, or she turns it over. Or she throws up a hook shot and misses. Mercedes IMO hasn't been coached properly. At 6'6 she should run down the court and get position under the basket even if she has to battle for it, which she rarely does, and catch the ball and just turn and shoot it. She makes her job on the court hard because she is not in good position, and tries to make moves to the basket that she really isn't capable of doing.
I still think she is lazy because she doesn't fight for position like she should. She is too tall, and too big, to not dominate a game. Those double doubles she has averaged is "fools gold"! She got most of them because of her height. Rebounds that don't come right to her, she isn't going to get because she will not pursue a rebound. She will stand and watch someone else get it. I've seen her do that several times. She is the "Jeb Bush" of the lady vols. LOW ENERGY!
We have very little toughness under Warlick. She's been out of her depth since she took over, so for pundits to say she will be "on the hot seat" next year makes me laugh. She's never been a credible coach, in my opinion.
Good article and valid points. Holly has a golden opportunity next year to turn this thing around and she can start by shaking up the staff and bring in someone who can teach this team some semblence of an offense. They also need someone who will get in their face and hold them accountable for dumb basketball plays. Maybe shaking up the staff will keep diamond here another year..i hope so anyway
If holly is let go, whether its this year or several years later, wes moore is the one i hope they go after
Based on what? People on here must take drugs before they go to bed and dream this stuff up. I think most would be shocked at how far these theories are from reality.I think the only staff shakeup that would keep Diamond here honestly is if Holly is gone and Coach Law is name interim head coach or someone is brought in who knows what they're doing
The current situation is to see who we have on the roster come April 4th. If everyone comes back then we have six players that didn't play last season hopefully in addition to the big three returning. Holly will be allowed to come back but it should be a make or break situation for her. I know she should already be gone but Hart gave her such a contract that Tennessee doesn't want to make women's basketball a financial liability so we'll have to work that contract down. I think Currie will be watching the situation closely and another double digit loss season should be Holly's last.
