Mac McClung

TTU was an offensively challenged roster like us. They don't have 2 first round NBA picks though. I think he could have helped get even better shots for them and our other guys
He’s never averaged more than 2apg, and always been around 2topg...while always leading his team in shot attempts, he’s not a true pg in the least bit, he’s a 2 guard volume scorer.

Texas Tech doesn't have 3 nba players. We desperately lacked a true PG. Would have helped our 2 freshman, and our other guards. Final 4? Probably not. Sweet 16.. Most likely.

I can’t say I’ve watched much of him this year, but he wasn’t playing the point. To be honest, he was smaller than I realized.

I get that he could have helped this year’s team with shooting, but I don’t think he would have helped as a PG.

People are way too caught up on the NBA players part. TTU has good vets. They have at least one 5-star freshman coming off the bench (I know that because he went to my wife's HS). Just because you have NBA talent doesn't mean college is going to be easy for you in year 1.

Only the ones who say Barnes can’t coach, yet he beat a well coached team that’s going to the Sweet Sixteen.

Guess it highlights our extreme inconsistency and lack of true basketball talent. We have some good athletes that are just decent basketball players.

McClung is not a point guard. He always has played the 2 position.

Edit: His future value as a professional player is as a scoring point guard who can distribute. Unfortunately I do not see his college coaches using him in that capacity enough nor do I believe McClung fully understands the need to make that a the primary part of his game.

He better work on it and practice that 3, needs to be a Dame-light with his range, if he ever gets a chance in the NBA. I'm rooting for the kid, doubt it, but u never know. If not, Jimmer Fredette is a legend and a rich man in the Far East. I think Japan, but it might be China

I think Mac is a great college player but I agree with you, I think his future is overseas stardom. And Jimmer is in China I believe

I think u are correct, because it was an issue of SI and they had articles about Yao Ming and Stephon Marbury, too. All 3 have ties to China basketball
