I never claimed to have confirmation. You just assumed that. I've posted before about my connections to the Bama program and after talking to a few very well-connected friends tonight, I'll honestly be shocked if Saban isn't the next head coach at Texas.

None of this seems true. Texas will go after another Sexton coach and he will make out like a bandit from two coaches.

This is the same kind of crap we heard all through the Gruden hysteria. Somebody with inside info that sounds legit because we all want it to be true, but turns out to be message board nonsense, nothing more. Some of you people really need to get a life.

I'll believe it when I see it. And if/when Saban isn't the next coach you will be on here telling everybody how shocked you are, if you even come back.

This is the last I'm posting on this for tonight. I'll just say that my well-connected Bama friends are legitimately worried. They've heard some things and for the first time ever, they're really worried.

Where would you rather finish off your career and retire, Tuscaloosa or Austin? Sometimes quality of life prevails. I would love to see Saban at UT- I mean the other UT.

Why wouldn't they follow the smokescreen strategy of getting turned down by 3 coaches they didn't want first? What color tie was Gruden wearing last night?

Getting nothing?? A free education is nothing?? Ok let's use Alabama. The current tuition rates are $4725/in state and $11975/ out of state per semester. So lets assume a kid from Georgia goes to Bama on an athletic scholarship. Now lets also say he stays 3 years, which would be 6 semesters.

a scholarship includes room/board, books, tuition and a meal plan. So 11975 x 6= 71850, before taxes, books, other fees and a meal plan. Factoring in these other fees I would conservatively estimate that for a 3 year stint at Alabama, you are looking at about $80-85000 for an out if state athlete. If the athlete stays for a full 4 years, it's creeping up close to 100k. Plus they can apply for and get federal grants. Also add the pocket money they are given by booster, alumni etc. and it looks like to me the athletes are doing just fine.

But I guess the athletes aren't getting anything right? I hope now you realize how stupid your comment is.

I'd say Saban or his agent more than likely is leveraging Bama for more $$$$$. Bama will offer $7 mil and Texas will go to $10 Mil and so on until 1 of them blinks..
