Mack Brown out at Texas

To be honest, I will feel worse for Brown if he gets to keep his job than if he has to go. Can you imagine?

This! I don't understand why they're dragging it out, and I don't think it's about sportscenter/college award show.

I am not sure they have made decision yet. I agree I don't think it is being delayed because of the rewards show. I didn't think that many people watched it.

I think you bring up a good point. I don't see him retaining his job though but I get what you're saying.

Let me add this as a guy who has despised the program since birth:

We all need to keep in mind, yes Aggies too, that when we talk about these things, we're not talking about robots. These are people. Mack Brown has done a phenomenal job at tu and should be allowed to maintain the dignity, he as a professional, deserves. I won't go as far as saying I like him, but he's a fellow man. In a way, this cluster is kind of saddening.

I think the sticking point on the Saban to Texas deal is the fact that Texas is having trouble locating a smaller midget than the one Alabama has on their side line to make Saban look taller.

How long until they find Mack on a bridge screaming that he will jump if he can't coach Texas next year?

These Saban/Brown threads are the most fun I have had here since the Gruden threads. Just need to bring in the OG's, err OB's, uhh OS's?

I still am under the conviction that there is only one job Saban would actually leave for this offseason. It's in Texas.

The Dallas Cowboys.

10 mil a year and I think Bama takes their chances with Smart...
Kind of what I'm thinking. I mean Saban is a deity there but Kirby Smart starts to look real good when you get up around 10 million.

Saban has a few more years before retirement becomes a serious consideration.

Please list what city the your buddy lives in that told you this? No city...not a valid source.

I heard it from a guy in Wal-Mart in Midwest City. I was standing behind him in line when he mentioned to his buddy how he worked for a moving company and they got a contract to pick up household goods for a person with initials LK out in California for a shipment to Alabama. Said the only thing he could figure was Saban was moving to Texas since another friend said he got a contract to move a family from Alabama to Texas. Added 2 and 2 and got Saban to Texas and Kiffin to Bama.

Sounded pretty legit to me.

I believe every word that anybody says as long as they have a "source" . LOL

Is there a number that Texas can offer where Bama will decide not to match it?

I would say yes. Without a doubt Texas can pony up way more than Bama. The reality is that the bidding would never get to the "we can't afford it" stage. It would get to the "we ain't paying that much" stage IMO.
