Yes, because Saban is a very truthful person, well except when he was leaving Michigan State, LSU, and Miami. That's what he does he lies, lies, and lies, then he leaves.

They spent about 15 years in the wilderness not too long ago, if memory serves.

DuBose, Franchione, Price, Shula, Rich Rod who left them at the alter before he could set foot in the paradise that is Tuscaloosa...and then their second or third choice...Saban.

Just heard from a friend of mine in Tuscaloosa that Saban is staying. He is real close in the football program

Stated that Saban really considered leaving but realized that everything was bigger in Texas except for him

No matter how this goes, bama and Texas will be more than fine in the end imo. There is no chance either school ends up with a Kiffin or Doolylike head coach in the end. The sad fact is that both of these schools have a real commitment to winning and will go all out to make it happen.

My prediction: Mack is gone. Saban stays at bama with a hefty raise and unheard of contract ( thank you very much Mr. Sexton). Texas lands a big time name that wows everyone in the country except the Longhorn Sabanites. Tennessee fans get to witness how a coaching situation is supposed to be handled.

Any one that expected it would happen before today, or today, hasn't given it much thought. They are going to announce at the banquet. They need to cover all the bases… this includes recruiting. Which is worth holding off for the weekend. Give the coaching staff time to contact recruits and let them know the situation, and have Mack call and say he will still be around to talk to them. You don't rush these things. It just seems long and drawn out because it leaked...

Seems interesting that ESPN would cut in on LHN just for Mack's speech
