Mack Brown out at Texas

Texas said the same about muschamp too.

But Kirby Smart is still on the Bama staff. Muschamp left before Mack was gone. Not the same situation.

Exactly, 3rd.

Smart is the highest paid coordinator in the country. He has taken his name out of the running at a few different schools in recent years, Kansas and UNC being two (and if you believe some reports, Auburn). He might leave for another job if Saban sticks around, but it'll have to be something like UGA.

Bamawriter. I understand he is the unofficial coach in waiting. But when(if) it comes down to it. You dont think bama will at least try to reach out to a few big names first?

I don't know what's going to be more fun to watch:

The melt down in the Alabama fan base if Saban leaves for Texas or

The melt down in the Texas fan base if he snubs them and turns them down.

Both will be quite epic and entertaining.

that's a fact

I kinda doubt it, honestly. Unless they got word from an agent that a big name was interested. I don't think Alabama has any interest in getting publicly turned down by folks not wanting to follow Saban.

Shaggybevo is popping off right now. If things dont get settled soon, that place will implode.

LOL, someone just said 12million/yr for Saban! the deal gets bigger and bigger. Also, someone said that McCarron stated in an interview that Saban told him he wasn't leaving.

The interview is true. Heard it myself. McCarron said "He told me he wasn't going anywhere and the mans never lied to me before".

Saban gone.

Will become official as soon as he's able to find a burnt orange blazer in a boy's medium.

You deserve a like for that one... pretty solid.

If I'm a recruit with TX interest, I'm looking at this as a win/win situation either way. In other words, based on how poorly Mack has done in the past I don't think his leaving will have that much of a negative impact (if at all) on recruiting. Rather, I think it will be more positive... regardless if Saban is the hire or not.

Saban would clearly have the most positive impact, but they should be able to get anyone to take that job who would do better than Mack has done the past few years.

I know how to entertain.

GR...

GRU...

If it were to happen, you'd never hear from me again. Not because I wouldn't want to discuss the topic, but there is absolutely nothing I could say on the issue that wouldn't elicit so many reports that the mods would have to ban me to keep from losing their minds.

That's never going to happen. I've never seen Gruden wearing a red tie on MNF.
