Mack Brown out at Texas

"I have a tremendous amount of respect for Mack Brown," Saban said. "Mack Brown is the coach at Texas. He deserves the right, based on his body of work, to be able to leave the program the way he wants to leave the program. It wasn't fair to him or to me to be speculating about this job, which I haven't talked to anybody there about.

Shaggybevo throwing out names: harbaugh, tomlin, lovie smith, etc.

I'm guessing they'll look through the nfl first (since no saban).

I read that in Saban's voice and it sounded legit.

"I guess I have to say it," Saban said. "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." "I don't know how many times I've got to respond to rumor and innuendo," Saban said. "I have no control over that. I've stated what my intentions are and they really haven't changed, so I don't know what the issue is. And I don't know why people keep asking about it. What they talk about over there is their business. But what's happening here is my business and our business, and that's what we're focused on."

"I don't control what people say," Saban said. "I don't control what people put on dot-com or anything else. So I'm just telling you there's no significance, in my opinion, about this, about me, about any interest that I have in anything other than being the coach here."

Oh Saban, you jokester you.

Kiffin to Texas. No one else has the experience, willingness and obliviousness to follow a programs most recent coaching legend that held on just a little too long. He's available too, Texas better hurry before someone else hires him. I bet he can even get his dad the leave the NFL to coach defense.

Actually, Saban has never had a buyout if he were to leave Alabama and I would bet that his new contract would not have one either. Basically, he is still free to go to Tejas.

ok, so I have just heard Brown is resigning! WOW! Anyone hear what changed his mind since last night? talk about a complete 360....

I hope they hire Franklin. I miss the days of Vandy being a sure-thing. A long as he's there, it will at least be a close game.

Brown made the decision Saturday afternoon and informed his team that he will not be the coach in 2014.

After 16 seasons in Austin, Mack Brown is stepping down as the head coach of Texas, the university announced Saturday.
:hi:

Meh... Once we load up on talent it will get back to normal. 2 recruiting classes like this one amd Vandy is toast.
