Mack Brown rerun of Fulmer. He's done Petrino licking his chops...

No way a premier Top 5 football institution goes for Petrino. Petrino will be at WKU at least 2 years.

Petrino would leave WKU 15 minutes before kickoff Saturday if he got a better offer.

Anybody dumb enough to employ that sack of **** will too learn that it always ends badly with that guy.

Twice might be a coincidence but after the fourth time, lol, buyer beware, you're gonna get burned.

Mack's days are numbered. Dobbs will take his million dollar bonus at the end of the year and ride off into the sunset to Kansas. The new blood will chit can Mack, Barnes and Soggy Burrito in short order (dammit).

This is what I've heard too. Dodds wont' fire any of his buddies but he's about ready to hang up his hat. The next AD will be the axe man if Brown, Barnes or Auggie don't retire/resign first.

If Texas loses Saturday. I say brown is gone. I think that would mean they are headed for 6-6 or 5-7. And the boosters would be done with him.

Only way Brown doesn't finish the season is if he chooses to resign. See above.

Ole Pizz winning in Austin...won't happen. How did they do at home last year, it seems Mack named his own score and will do it again (ole puss ain't no BYU you know). OU will hang 60 on him in Dallas and we'll hang 60 on him in Waco. DeLoss will retire and...

I would be surprised if Ole Miss doesn't win. They are young, hungry and innovative. Texas is the football equivalent of a flacid pecker right now.

Especially with their starting QB out:

David Ash of Texas Longhorns questionable vs. No. 25 Mississippi Rebels - ESPN

As well as their top running back. And when your AD starts saying things like "he's fine" means you had best watch out:

Texas Longhorns AD DeLoss Dodds says Mack Brown is 'fine' as football coach - ESPN

Because obviously the subject has come up in conversation and been discussed.

Geoff Calkins on 92.9 ESPN in Memphis says that Saban and Hugh Freeze would be major candidates for the job.

Can't see either happening.

I think Freeze would jump at the chance. Might not be a bad hire. He took a putrid team bowling last year. Great recruiter. If he were at Texas they would be top 3 in recruiting every year. Plus, not that money is an issue at Texas, but they could get Freeze for half what it would cost to get Saban. Bama would take up donations at every Walmart and mortgage every trailer in the state to get enough money to keep Saban.

Petrino will take the first train out of Bowling Green. While we would like to think nobody will pull the trigger on him due to his scumbag stature, there's too many teams that are willing to sell their soul...somebody will do it. As for Saban, it's hard to be sure. The NFL is the only gig where he has really failed. How much does that stick in his craw? OTOH, rebuilding a team like Texas could have a lot of appeal to him. I think he leaves Bama for something within the next 2-3. Also, Bama and others have benefitted greatly from a Tennessee team that's been in a down cycle for the past few years. I believe that is about to change.

For Saban to leave Alabama, it will become a bidding war between Texas and Bama. The whole "challenge" of keeping Bama at the top won't get old as recruits can and will go to other schools where they will get playing time. Not every 5 star recruit has Alabama at the top of their list. Just look at the SEC this year. LSU and Georgia have the opportunities to upset Bama for the SEC title as well as going to the NC game. (really hoping it isn't Georgia though as I'm hoping for a beating of epic proportions in Neyland this year lol)

While Texas can pay for pretty much any coach out there, there would be a limit to their madness. I think anyone who claims Texas would pay $10M for a single coach just because he has a winning record is dreaming. There are plenty of winning coaches out there that will go for far less.

After he leaves they will probably hire Tressel for his rehab stint. They can brand themselves as the place to go for disgraced coaches to get themselves back in the game.
