I look for Carolina to go with an up and comer this time. They've gone with retreads the last two hires, although it has worked out pretty well for them.

Meyer and Malzahn run different styles. Also look at what's happened to Malzahns team this year. Defenses have caught up to the gimmick style and he's having to change it up. Fuente's offense would NOT work long term in big boy football where he faces good defenses. Too many good athletes on defense around the league.

I don't know Memphis that well to know their offense. but a "jump ball" offense worked pretty well for a guy named Tebow in the SEC.

Also what's not close is the caliber of competition. But I guess that doesn't matter.

Neither is the talent he has, but I guess that doesn't matter either. That type of play worked just fine vs the vaunted OM defense in the Peach Bowl last year.

Like I said teams have now reacted with their defense. They were picked to win the SEC by pretty much everyone. How's that working out?

The media also picked us to win 9-10 games. How's that working out? They based that off of Johnson playing stellar in mop up duty last year in 3 games or so. When your offense is predicated on having a QB who can run to keep defenses honest and you have 2 who can't outrun Mt Cody and one who can't throw, the offense becomes fairly predictable.

Anyone still think Strong gets fired after the season -- how about the Nebraska job will it be open after the season ? Alot of jobs might be opening it looks like. UCLA has become a problem now also I think Mora might leave for the NFL

Yep, lots of coaches will be getting big pay incrases. Mainly those that stay put where they are at.

I don't know who you got your crack-cocaine from, but the media predictions were justified, and if we had a coach with common sense, we would be on our way to a 10-11 win season. But because Botch is Botch, we lost to an above-average OK team, and a bad AR team.

I don't doubt we should and could win 10 games. But we aren't, so the media was wrong. Point being, a bunch of AP writers predictions mean jack preseason.
