I don't think that this is a good comparison. The Como's survived years of women claiming rape and harassment. Al was also accused of unwanted advances.

I’ve long suspected large dirt files are kept on key people in government, which can be used to leverage favorable outcomes in Washington. I’m almost certain of this…it’s not really much of a theory. I think a lot of the digging happens before they ever get into their office.

What if the coke and orgy story is true? This wouldn’t surprise me one bit, having very close ties to the area and some of those who work in it. I don’t know that what he alleges is true, but I don’t think it’s as wild a claim as many think it is.

He threw the dirt out, and now they’ve whipped out the dirt file. He was probably warned…

Very plausible. I have no doubt that one or more of the 3 letter agencies goes dumpster diving immediately after a new person is elected to federal office.

I will go one further and suggest that the candidates may be selected and pumped up BECAUSE the dumpster diving had already occurred and they were found to be particularly vulnerable to blackmail.

Politics is sleazy - Cawthorn must be a special kind of stupid to think that this stuff wouldn't come out.

Anyhow, why would you invite a paralyzed guy to an orgy? Seems like that'd be just frustrating. Maybe they needed someone to hold the camera?

Who knows? All I’m saying is it wouldn’t surprise me at all.

I was a little surprised by how big a reaction it got from so many politicians. “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”

I get that a lot of people would think it ludicrous, but I dont think it’s that far fetched. Just ply a
Hill rat with a little booze and ask them for some of what they’ve seen.

It appears that you can do anything you want in the GOP/DNC, so long as you don't talk about what really goes on in the GOP/DNC.

I wonder how many equally reprehensible representatives are still happily on the party rolls because they keep their mouths shut and read the releases from The Party verbatim like good little drones.

Anyone who has ever spent significant time in the Washington area comes to understand the people have two tribes to choose from. But inside the Beltway, there is only one tribe. That’s the power tribe.

Do they have some serious disagreements? Sure. But the ones who stay are the ones who realize the disagreements are mere theatre that keep the machine going and keep them in power.

Rarely do you ever see lifelong politicians move to punish others for unethical behavior. They don’t want a light shined in the sewer. When it happens, it’s usually because their hand is forced, and you’ll see both sides hold hands and do it together.
