Major baseball problems at Alabama

I posted this on another site:

At best, Bohannon unintentionally or innocently shared information with someone who then passed that information to bad actors.

At worst, he knowingly had someone do that for him.

Whatever it was, the administration thought it warranted immediate termination – the same administration that isn’t exactly known for being strict on their coaches.

Leads you down same trail as Pete Rose. Even if Pete / Brad are merely wagering $5 on info, others watch and learn that there is an insider source.

Then, the bad actors / big money wades into it.

I do the same with Old Timer in the pick'em thread. Wait for his selection, then call my man at Bellagio, and tell him to throw a hundred dimes on Vols having a two bunt weekend.

They promoted the Pitching Coach to interim HC, he was also named in the lawsuit, so I bet (get it) this is strictly related to wahtever the Bammer admin uncovered in their investigation into the gambling issue.

excellent point.

but there may actually be a third problem that's not widely known.

I still have trouble believing it's gambling.

"My nephews best friend is a current Bama baseball commit. He was told that a player on the team bet on Bama to lose the Friday game against LSU after Bama scratched their starter 45 minutes before first pitch. Coach Brad Bohanan got word of it but never reported it and now he got axed. That's the true story"

Seriously, Alabama facing Skeenes on Friday, who wouldn't bet them to lose anyway...........going to be real interesting to see how this plays out

Hear UGA may be open after this year also so that could be three SEC schools if MSU does not play decent over next 3 weeks.

Nate Oats facing zero repercussions and Bohannon being fired is kind of everything wrong with college athletics. Consequences don’t exist as long as you’re making money for your university.
The two are vastly different. Miller acted on his own, and Oates really didn’t have anything to do with it other than Miller playing for him. On the other hand, it sounds to me like Bohannon was responsible for these actions

As bad as Nate Oats acted during the Brandon Miller saga, Oats was guilty of tone deafness and just overall looking horrible.

I doubt it would come to this, but if Bohannon was involved in run shaving or throwing games, it's possible he could go to prison.

I call BS on this message board claim. The books stopped taking bets because of the $$$ involved. Players don't have that kind of cash to cause that...
