Major fail by Amazon

Nerd, I am just trying to make a living to support these 14 kids I have. Also, the alternator is out on my Crown Victoria. i am doing the best I can. I will try to do better. Please give me another chance.

I'll consider it. I'm very important you know.

Relevant to this thread, I am a prime member and I ordered two items on the 26th and they arrived on the 27th! Maybe all the energy they did not spend before Christmas they put towards the days following?

I agree they do. My original post never said they didn't. The immediate first responses are what I found absurd.

I actually work in supply chain management.

High volumes, short turnover times, unpredictable weather and the ever present human fallibility (none of us are perfect)... all of these things played role. You don't have to be a supply chain manager to realize that those things didn't play in your favor.

After a certain point (the moment Amazon made it aware that they couldn't track my order), I would have made an attempt to cancel (and you even made the point of mentioning in this thread about the easy of credit card purchases being amended after lack of satisfaction) and went on on the 26th or 27th to a less crowded mall/brick 'n mortar after Christmas and found my merchandise. Not make a thread and rant about how Amazon/UPS sucks when you read on this very thread how other members have used them for years with no issues.

I order some stuff too and it took a little longer than I anticipated. I understand that it is the holidays and things are slower than normal. You can bet your ass that is I needed it by Christmas, I wouldnt have waited until 4 days prior to order it though. Apparently thats just me though.

not to mention that we cant take all the kids with us at one time because we only have 4 pairs of shoes to go around. we are so poor, we have to jack the dog off just to feed the cat.

Stupid, hourly trash.

You poors shouldn't be allowed on the internet. You stink up the library with your poorness.

Maybe it's just me, but I just always have that "what if" factor already baked in to my dealings with getting items shipped to me. If they say 3-5 days, I just assume a week. If they tell me overnight, I just still assume 2-3 days. More often you get pleasantly surprised when you have low expectations. Things happen.

I agree. Proper planning to avoid disappointment.

Disagree. I don't expect Amazon to screw the same order up twice.

If people expected that, they wouldn't be in business.

I am a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. I had to borrow 8 dollars from the kettle just to have Christmas grilled cheeses. Does this make me a terrible person. I plan on paying it back when i sell these aluminum cans.

Please remember that you're not allowed to sell the cans that you pick up for the city as part of your sentence.

I'm sorry sir but you are way too provincial for the demands of our modern society ( I fell asleep for a while and this delightful diatribe is still ongoing. For joy.)

Its like you have to be Nostradamus or a clairvoyant to anticipate bottlenecks in the supply chain and order items a little bit sooner than 4 days before. Its like you have to be gifted to have that kind of foresight and forward thinking.

4 days for an item to travel 200 miles.

It's like some people have never worked in transportation or made it out of their house.

Also, a package lost is not a bottleneck.

I'm aghast at this provincial line of thought.

I think my last order before Christmas was the 19th. It got there on the 23rd. I was very happy with that. I knew I was pushing it, but I had to wait for my paycheck from a hourly job to come through. My question is, if OP is unsatisfied with Amazon, and does not want to deal with B&M, where else would he or she go to find what Amazon provides?
