The failures of the No Child Left Behind Act, horrid disaster management, the Patriot Act, his bullheadedness on most foreign policy, his attitude in general. I can come up with more reasons that I hate George W. Bush than the Iraq War.
1. How is No Child Left Behind any worse than the disaster that our education system was prior. The failures of the No Child Left Behind Act, horrid disaster management, the Patriot Act, his bullheadedness on most foreign policy, his attitude in general. 1. No Child left behind is a bad policy, but he inherited a department that was just plain hideous to begin with. So he tried something else that failed just like everything else the government will fail on because it has no business being involved with it to begin with.
2. It doesn't matter who would have been running FEMA, because there was NO plan in place to begin with to go off of. People didn't even take Katrina seriously until it was too late. Plus there were bullheaded people that didn't listen even after it was obvious they were screwed if they didn't leave.
3. I have no problem with the Patriot act since I am not a terrorist or an enemy of the country. Tell me a way that it affects you adversely and how it affects your status in this country.
4. Bush, if you didn't notice is a moderate globalist. Hence the stance on immigration and the world market.
5. Yeah well if you knew him on a daily basis I MIGHT consider your stance on his attitude to have some merit, but it has none.
So you may not like George Bush, as alot of people don't but hater or not he has done good for this country. A 34-37% approval rating may not show it, but like I said factor out Iraq and he isn't the villain most portray him to be. Also there is a new poll that shows he has a BETTER rating than Congress does...
Approval of Congress lowest in a decade - Los Angeles Times
I don't support Bush, but I have enough sense about myself to know he isn't as bad as he is portrayed.
1. Someone has to oversee the education system, and if he has no business sticking his nose in it, he shouldn't have.
2. Regardless, there were failings up and down the chain of command post Katrina
3. It's a slippery slope, the "I'm not a terrorist" stance is a cop out.
I'll skip 4 because I don't necessarily disagree, and Bush's foreign policy is another thread worth of discussion anyways.
5. Let me clarify, the cowboy attitude that he exhibits when speaking is neither cute, nor acceptable from a person in his position. This is the attitude I despise.
As for the polling, I have said it before, and I will say it for at least the third time, I could care less where Congress is polling because of one simple fact. I am not a Democrat, I think they are a cancer just like Bush. I also fail to see where Congress has anything to do with my feelings about Bush.
As for your last sentence, if you are suggesting that I do not have enough sense about me to think differently than you, you are just plain wrong. I don't feel the need to explain that any further, and frankly, think that you should consider rephrasing.
I don't mean any of this to be inflammatory, I just think your arguments about my differences with Bush are based on assumptions you might have about my beliefs, your assumptions are pretty much all off base.
To me your responses are sounding like you don't know what you want for the country. I think you have sense, I just think the media has brainwashed you into believing that everything Bush touches turns to crap. As far as education, WE the PEOPLE should oversee it not the government. As Reagan said, "Government is not the answer, it is the problem." Government should only do what the private sector can't, shouldn't, or won't do. The private sector and the free market can do almost everything this country needs, but since the government has grown it relies on it to get things done so businesses don't offend anyone. If the government gets much bigger, we won't have many rights other than the ones provided by the Constitution but even those are in danger.
IMO, the No Child Left Behind Act is an odd one to include in that list. That was basically a Ted Kennedy creation in the early days of the administration. Plus I don't see how it can be labeled much of a failure when Public Education was such a train wreck to begin with.
Who would ever agree that a "bad policy" is the way to fix something? It is more of your interpreting anything he touches as "bad" that makes people put you in the bandwagon group.
See here is the problem, that's not it at all. I think hate may have been a strong word for me to use. I don't like the guy because I disagree with him on nearly every issue, and have disagreed with nearly every move he has made.
and for Constitutional rights, you nailed why I am completely against the Patriot Act in a nutshell.
OK, the only thing now that I can say to you is, how does it affect YOU?? The Patriot Act doesn't affect me very much at all. The only time it ever affected me was at a bank when I was opening up a checking account. Other than that time, it doesn't affect me. The only reason it should bother you is IF you have something to hide. Shoot, it doesn't even keep the illegals from getting what they want in this country, which is a whole 'nother can a refried beans to look at.
America isn't all about you, maybe you should think about someone other than yourself.
And George nominated Harriet Miers, talks like a fool, beat his bible all over USA before Katrina to get elected, only to let the poor die in N.O., and keeps a lying snake, err "forgetful" buffoon, as his attorney general...while we are on the subject of Bush's f-ups.

Again, that is such a cop out. It bothers me because it is an attack on freedoms given to myself and my fellow Americans by a little document called the Constitution. If freedoms are sacrificed now, then where does it end?
I also fail to see why something has to directly affect me for me to form an opinion on it.
You really can't blame Bush for Katrina, I agree with the prior poster who said it was poor planning and stupidity that killed them, That is the thing about the Dems you all want to find how something in the system has failed someone and then cast blame in that general direction, when really we as a nation ought to be responsible enough to not rely on govt assistance in every aspect of our lives. If something goes wrong in your life why must we all depend on "the government" to come to the rescue. So pick yourself up, go to work, and quit depending on the welfare system to cut your check, if the dems and the republican could all come toward the center again we might actually get some stuff done again.
