Certainly a bandwagoner. I mean I know you all certainly helped the Dems take control of Congress so they could handle pressing issues like why 8 attorneys were fired.

:good!:

No, not a bandwagoner. I voted Bush in 2000 and have recognized since about '02 that he is a bad leader.

And the attorneys were fired because they wouldn't prosecute voter fraud against Democrats in their respective cities these attorneys represent. There wasn't any voter fraud there, per the evidence, and the attorneys wouldn't prosecute, so Gonzalez fired them. Then Gonzalez "couldn't recall" certain key situations while under oath. He's either too stupid to be attorney general or too partisan. I would say this is a "pressing issue," not just a bangwagon jump. There are several failures in this White House, so merely pointing them out would be far from bandwagoning. I think it's more of a case of the die hard Bush fans ignoring his failures and blanketing them in statements of "bandwagoning" and "better than Gore/Kerry/Jesus."

if it's that painful, you're still free enough to find yourself a better place to reside where you won't be subject to the dastardly law.

I'm glad the founding fathers, unionist who supported the emancipation of slaves, and "the greatest generation" who fought against fascism didn't have the same convoluted opinion as you, just because their situation may have not been as ample or pleasant as yours.

And you are completely entitled to that line of thinking. Thanks for adding to the discussion with such an original response.

Yes, "the greatest generation", people that sacrificed so much, including their lives, would be horrified by The Patriot Act. Because war simply did not have any impact on their freedoms and they just would not understand this.

i think he was referring to the "like it or leave" comment that was made. could have been referring to both though.

I'm not surprised that you would reply with some ridiculousness as this, but the world and the dangers therein have changed dramatically. None of that crowd faced such an undefined threat using our own freedoms against us. All of that notwithstanding, I can envision Thomas Jefferson telling those disgruntled with the laws passed via our democratic process to pack their wares and find a better situation elsewhere.

Thanks for letting me have an opinion, that's very kind of you.

You act as if the Patriot Act has not been vetted through our law producing system. It was passed by an elected Congress in which a majority believed in the need for the law. I'm not sure how you missed that boat.

Either way, you clearly have alternatives to abiding by the law. I'm simply pointing out that your freedoms haven't been so trampled as to render you helpless in dealing with your plight.

The ridiculous tax structure in this nation is dramatically more socialist than anything about the Patriot Act, but I'm sure your not worried about equitable outcomes in regards to that, so long as those treated unfairly continue to abide by the law and fund the programs that you so love.

I have never claimed to be directly affected by the Patriot Act. But again, I don't feel the need to be affected by an invasion of privacy against other citizens, that, in itself, is offensive to me.
