Here is a crazy thought.
Why can't we respect them both and let whatever problems they have with one another remain between the two of them?
Silly I know.
An argument can be made that if Johnny had somehow managed to stay away for the Bama games in 1989 and 1990, we would have had a better chance to win them both. Alabama was to Majors as Florida was to Fulmer.

Johnny did have issues with Bama, but there are lots of differences in those two scenarios. Johnny did beat Bama four times and did it in a row. Here's an interesting statistic: In the years of those 4 wins in a row, Bama finished the season in the top 15 of those years. During our winning stretch from 1995-2001, Bama finished in the top 15 in only 1 of those years. It was only the last few years of Majors tenure when we started getting better players than Alabama. Most of the time when Majors faced Bama, they had more talent. Most of the time Fulmer faced Florida, we had more talent. Fulmer beat Florida 5 times in his career and Majors beat Bama four times. That's really the only thing comparable in your analogy
Here's an interesting perspective of that 1989 loss: Our starting QB was Sterling Henton, who as we had already seen in previous games, had trouble with pocket presence and completion percentage. We had beat everyone's azz by running down their throats with Reggie Cobb and Chuck Webb running behind one of the best OLs in UT history. Cobb was kicked off a few days before the game. IT hurt, but because we had Chuck Webb, arguably the best RB in UT history, we were in good shape. Bama loaded the box and dared us to throw. Henton choked and was exposed as a fraud for a starting QB. Enter Andy Kelley, who played well and earned the starting job by making it respectable. Fulmer did a great job as OC that year. I wish we would have had a struggle game prior to Bama so Henton's deficiencies could have been exposed earlier. We should have won the national championship that year and the next
