Majors on Butch: Best UT Coach in 10 Years

Let's not upset the CPF haters with actual facts!!!!!

Why does everything have to be in absolute extremes with you? You're reasoning skills need some work. I haven't seen one post that could be characterized as hateful.

Plus it's not an either/or type situation. Just because someone believes Fulmer was only an average game day coach doesn't mean they love Majors. As I articulated more than once, I don't believe either were anything special as coaches. Based on the talent level, that's pretty accurate.

You do realize that for about 13-14 years, we had superior talent to anyone in the SEC and top 3 in the country.

You have not seen any posts that could be called hateful? Try reading the Fulmer thread and come back and see me. Also; I debate in context just fine. You are the one that sets himself up as a spokesman for "informed fans".

I hope you don't actually believe this to be true, but if so, then it explains why you have trouble debating in context

BTW, I haven't been bashing him. Just stating how I developed by opinion based on several facts

You can not know the history of the CPF debate and say this with a straight face. When you do not have an answer, it is time to insult me with the now tired "trouble debating in context" refrain.

Then why don't you have rebuttals as to why we got blown out AT least a couple of times a year from 2002-2008. If Fulmer was such a great coach, then why can't you offer appropriate rebuttals as to why we got blown by Florida so often when we had superior talent? Why, when we won, was is always extremely close. With the talent we had in 2002, why did we get BLOWN out by Florida, Alabama, Miami and MARYLAND. In 2003, why did we get blown out by Georgia at home and by an unranked Clemson team in our bowl game. How do you lose to a bad Notre Dame team at home? How can a team so loaded with talent that it's a preseason #3, then proceeds to have a LOSING season?

Great coaches don't let things snowball to the downside as often as Fulmer and even Majors did at times.

It doesn't matter. Like I said, he is not our coach anymore nor should he be. That's nowhere near being hateful. It's reality

I have answered you on everything you've brought up. You're the one dodging the pertinent questions.

I am glad our decisions makers have nothing in common with you other than their love of the University

Not in this thread.

Wrong.

He owned you, 114. Sad part is you're a legend in your own mind and cant see how bad you look.

Let it go and save the last specs of your dignity

Why would I care what you think? You can't offer rebuttals to the questions posed either!

Posting his overall record isn't a rebuttal.

Can you answer the question as to why we got blown by Florida so often? Can you answer as to why ,after 2001, we haven't been relevant nationally? Can you explain why we were only serious national title contenders in two seasons of a 12 year stretch when we had top 3 talent in the country?

Fulmer was a great recruiter and good coach, and there's a reason why no significant programs with openings offered him a job when he made it clear he was looking. Sorry, your spin of those events doesn't hold up to scrutiny

Here is a crazy thought.
Why can't we respect them both and let whatever problems they have with one another remain between the two of them?
Silly I know.

You are kidding, right? You actually do not believe that CPF's record is not relevant to this debate? By the way, 1 year removed from the SEC championship game makes him relevant. Top 3 talent? Exactly 3? What source told you it was 3? Is this another one your self-proclaimed representative of all informed fan's opinions?

What do you consider to be "nationally relevant"? He finished 4 seasons in the nationally ranked top 25 and beat 11 top 25 ranked teams.

When did Tennessee lose to a bad Notre Dame team at home?

1. Being in the national championship race past Week 3
2. BCS bowl berths (Last one was 1999)
3. Not getting blown out 2+ times a year by your biggest rivals

There hasn't been any self proclamations. I base my top 3 talent opinion on the experts in the NFL. During the time frame I described(1990-2003) UT was consistently in the top 3 of players on opening day NFL rosters. During that same time frame, UT had 93 players drafted and Florida had 76 drafted.

I said Fulmer was a great recruiter and good coach. His overall record is certainly relevant, which is why I said he is good and not great. Any analysis of the details in the overall record supports my conclusions. Plenty of substance in several posts that you are ignoring. To imply I hate Fulmer is simply not true. Nothing I have posted would support that notion. I don't believe him to be the "legend" that you do and have posted my reasoning in detail. Saying 152-52 doesn't cut it

Did you have dinner with these "experts"? Is that when these experts told gave you this top 3 information, or are you going back to representing and speaking for these guys. I have my own expert. "You are what your record says you are" Bill Parcells. When did I imply you hated CPF? Oh that's right, you know what I am thinking. You know what the experts think and you know what our fanbase thinks.

Wasting your time with the Fulmorons. The only response you'll keep getting is "152-52. " Reality is not really friends of the Fulmoron crowd.

Majors was fired when he should've been.
Fulmer was fired when he should've been.
Hamilton should've never been hired in the first place. You can thank Pat Summit and Fulmer for Hamilton being hired. It was going to be Hymen.

Hey BC, how are you doing?

The data about Vols in the NFL is factual. So are the draft picks. No expert told me anything. I can read

Sorry you've had your azz handed to you. It appears as though you just don't know too much.
