Maybe because they're just off a Nat'l championship and we're not on their level yet :) ...I would bet that TS wants the rivalry to be competitive again. Smoking a team year in and year out doesn't really make for much of a rivalry. Plus, TS just seems like a good person to me

lylsmorr pretty well has it right, except that Bama hardly smoked UT last season. As y'all well know, Bama narrowly escaped. I'm a Bama alum and of course I dearly love my Crimson Tide, but that doesn't mean I have to be a hater of Bama's rivals. When I was a kid (in Huntsville, AL) my Dad -- an Arky alum and huge Hogs fan -- was a Bama fan too (Bear Bryant era), but my dad's best buddy was a Vol alum and die-hard Vol fan. His son and I were great friends too. We all went to some Bama vs Vols games together back then -- both at Neyland and at Legion Field. So, I've never really rooted against the Vols except of course vs Bama. I was also fortunate when I played FB to have been coached by great mentors who had class and who taught me well to respect every opponent and their fans and their pride in their own team.

Edit: PS, I can't stand Lil Lane -- severly lacking in integrity and class -- and it will ultimately catch up with him. He never gave a rip about UT and was a horrible fit for UT. Dooley really seems like a class act. I hope he succeeds well and quickly at UT.

I don't know if it can be verified, but I talked to a guy at work who was at the Bama UT game last season. He said afterward the stadium was quiet, almost silent as people walked out. I think everyone was still stunned even though yall won. Tidal Surge do you think you can shed some light and say if this is true?

Yeah just like Tennessee and Lovie Smith were finishing up a "contract".

I'd say he gets 8 or 9 wrong for every 1 he gets right but that is just an estimate. He's bound to get one stick every once in a while.

First off he said multiple USC players were visiting Tennessee. Jackson is the only one that has.

He reminds me of MHF.

Why dont you point out where I made 8 or 9 incorrect predictions regarding the team since Dooley became coach?

Was it when I started the thread for Wilcox as DC?

I made one prediction this entire off season. You were wrong. I was right. I am proud of you for not lying about it like Hat, but pretending that it is a chance occurrence is sad.

Justin I do not like idiots on this board pretending they know what they are talking about and ripping me.

Then when it is time for them to admit they have no idea what they are saying and just parrot what they read on the interwebz, they decide to double down and compare me to Basilio who was right about Bryce Brown but who missed over and over and over.

When you are a basketball "expert" and you cannot properly evaluate the talent of any players on our team, or when you mock me for predicting an Elite 8, you should know a bit yourself.

BPV and Hat are the main people who attempt to condescend from below but Montrell is hurt because of how badly he missed on this, and so he is trying to take a shot at me.

I highly doubt him or Miller either one redshirt. Dooley was talking in the spring about how they are players.

Agreed.

Only way either get redshirted would be an injury during fall camp or during the season.

DE gets thin after Walker and Martin are gone. Getting those guys experience is a necessity.

At least 1 DE is gonna have to give some minutes at DT imo. Jackson says he is 270, but even if he is a little smaller than that, he is still the biggest DE we have.

Him and Fowlkes are both listed at DE but Fowlkes supposedly made a change to DT in the spring and Sykes has always been a DT.

I think it'll be like this

DE- Walker, Jackson, Bohannon, Miller
DT- Hughes, Brown, Nelson, Sykes
DT- Walls, Fowlkes, Jeffery, Clark
DE- Martin, Williams, Jacques

If Brown doesn't get in, we are hurting at DT. 1 of those other 5 will have to do something. i do think Fowlkes and Jeffery have some potential.

Has Fowlkes put on more weight? He is only listed at 240 on the roster. That is way to light for a DT.

No clue. I assume he has been trying.

But it's really not gonna matter who you put there. They are all gonna be light for a DT. Bohannon played DT some last year at about 230lbs.
