Manafort Trial Thread Part II

He could cooperate and not "flip". There may not be anything to "flip" but he still could provide plenty of information about the Russian criminal organizations that Mueller may find valuable.

Fine by me. If he has dirt, I wanna see it.

Isn’t the point of prosecuting Manafort to punish HIM for crimes HE committed?
I've already had this conversation with you about Mueller's techniques. Why do you want to rehash it? It's like you don't ever pay attention.

So you are perfectly fine with federal prosecutors ruining peoples lives in the hopes they can provide evidence of a crime?

Another reason for a plea without cooperation - Mueller wanted to delay this trial; presumably to avoid having to publicly disclose some of his collected evidence. Manafort's team pushed to have these trials quickly. Mueller may want to take the conviction without having to reveal things he doesn't want out yet.

It wasn't Mueller that wanted to delay the trial.
Judge Amy Berman Jackson agreed to the extension which was not for as long as Manafort’s lawyers wanted. She issued an order late Thursday stating that the joint statement prepared by the two sides together must now be filed by August 24th.

Go back and read this thread more closely and you can see that Manafort is the one wanting more time and even move the trial out of DC.

But she still had words for Downing on Tuesday, and responded to his outburst. "We don't need to be smug. We don't need to be cute," she said sharply from the bench. Downing apologized to the judge almost immediately.
She also expressed frustration with all of Manafort's lawyers Tuesday for their requests to delay the trial start date and filing dates.

So was it the first one that Manafort wanted to happen quickly? I could have sworn it was at least one of them.

Trump and his associates conduct business and act like organized crime bosses.

How so? None were ever even investoigated for anything close to organized crime activity over the last 40+ years. It wasn’t until he was elected, coincidence?

It’s official. Manafort pleads guilty to one count of conspiracy against the U.S. and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice.

Outstanding news! Does this mean Hillary can be our president now?

They can’t make that happen no matter who they put in jail or impeach . She had one job and somehow screwed it up ... she gone .
