Conservative Republicans threaten to KICK Marjorie Taylor Greene out of their group: GOP members want to purge members of House Freedom Caucus they feel are getting too close to the 'establishment'

Hardline Republicans are reportedly discussing a purge of their House Freedom Caucus group, expelling members they believe have become too cozy with party leaders or who are not doing enough to promote the group's aims.

The Freedom Caucus prides itself on being the most rightwing of the congressional groupings and delights in bomb throwing tactics.

Among the members is Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Trump loyalist who has spread QAnon conspiracy theories, suggested 9/11 was a hoax and accused the Clintons of murder.

None of those were disqualifying issues as she gained prominence within the Freedom Caucus but now she has committed a far greater sin in the eyes of her rightwing associates: Getting too close to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

In a series of tweets, Rep. Greene revealed an incident at her Washington D.C. residence, claiming that her TV turned on by itself and showed that a laptop was attempting to connect to it. She included information about her good health and active lifestyle, along with saying that she is “very happy.”

Greene Defiant after reports of Freedom Caucus ouster: I ‘serve no group in Washington’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) released a defiant statement on Thursday following reports that she had been ousted from the House Freedom Caucus.

After Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) told reporters the caucus's executive board had voted to kick Greene out of the group, the Georgia Republican, a stalwart of the party's right wing, released a statement that didn’t confirm or deny her removal from the group.


But she did reject the idea that her allegiance was to its members or any other caucus on Capitol Hill.

“In Congress, I serve Northwest Georgia first, and serve no group in Washington,” Greene said in her statement. “My America First credentials, guided by my Christian faith, are forged in steel, seared into my character, and will never change. I fight every single day in the halls of Congress against the hate-America Democrats, who are trying to destroy this country.”
