I despise feeling like a Kentucky football fan and not being one. It's like your neighbor just shot your dog and you can't do anything about it but greive.
But look on the bright side, I'm a Vol fan???

Mark has agreed to play his 1st team for the 1st quarter only, he's a class act and feels sorry for the Vawols

After 2004, 2006, 2009 and what almost happened last year, I think he's serious. UGA has a history of wetting the bed when favored in this game.

Also I'll add to my last post about this....those UT teams were clearly better than this one however.

Plus in 2009 UGA ended up 8-5, so they really weren't all that good that year.

Simply put, this upset would be the mother of upsets in this rivalry (recent history at least).

Just going off memory, he got Fulmer early. They won in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2008. He beat Dooley all 3 years. So, he is 8-4 against us.

They do seem to play better on the road. However, other than a year or two under Fulmer, we seem to play them tight. Even James Banks at QB played them tough when Clausen was hurt.

Didn't Clausen lose every year to Georgia? Everyone talks about how he beat Florida. But i remember him losing to Georgia a lot.

Hopefully Georgia plays "down" to the competition this week. We certainly did last saturday. It happens. Even in the 90s we occasionally had trouble from the likes of Memphis. I wouldn't count on it. But here's hoping.

Man its probably going to be a hard game to watch I just hope our Vols can atleast compete a little bit. Its going to take a miracle to stop the GA offense they looked awfully good against LSU. We have a lot of recruits coming for this game I just hope it don't get to ugly and our fans start booing that want look good at all to the young men coming for a visit. Cmon vol nation lets get behind Butch and our team. Butch is doing his job now lets do ours and back them up. Butch could have easily went some where else but he wanted to coach our mighty VOLS. He can't get it done in one yr its going to take
Time he's already recruting like a mad man he's going to coach the same way. GO VOLS!

And they have the additional handicap of enduring a loss. They can't afford to let up. BCS computers will force them to lose points even if they win and don't cover. If Oregon/Ohio State/etc win out UGA could be sitting on the outside even if they win the SEC if they don't beat the spread in every game they do win.

This game was a bad choice for Jones to bring in a bunch of recruits, honestly.

The winner of the SEC goes to the national championship. That's not likely to change.

I would have to agree that Georgia does usually choke against us...kind of like we always do against Florida

Will be over by half time. Bad way to break out the new uni's.

Do the kids on the team read Volnation? I believe they do, and for 4 years the seniors have read this same crap, week after week. And then we gripe because they quit. If I was them, I'd quit too, (I wouldn't even play the game if I were them, knowing that they're all going to be taken off the field on stretchers). But they go out there every Saturday and bust their tails for "fans" such as yourself. You guys are unbelievable.

Oh c'mon. There are just as many ridiculously positive threads as there are idiotic negative ones. If someone can't handle differing opinions then they shouldn't be on the internet.

There's no sense in beating a dead horse but you can't come to a place where the voicing of opinions is encouraged and not expect differing opinions. Take it fwiw and leave it at that.

If any players on our team take stock on what they read on the internet, much less this board, maybe they need to consider golf or something.

We won"t lose by 100, it will be closer than everyone truly believes. Call me crazy or whatever you want to. I believe we play them real close.

Georgia is a big favorite for a reason, but they ain't Oregon. I truly think the Vols have a chance here, be it a small one. Dawgs have a history of flinching.

You are saying they should and will quit because some person in Cheetoh's stained tighty-whities sitting at a keyboard insulted them. That would make you quit too?

if they are sick of what theyve been reading then they should do something about it.

CMR will not say it publicly but this game means a lot him.

Just listened to his press conference. Between calling our o-line the best he's seen on film this year and speaking of AJ Johnson as if he is Brian Uhrlacher, he's got me believing Tennessee could compete for the NFC South this year. :)

He made a great point about Butch Jones saying that for a new coaching staff, every game like this is a shortcut opportunity for a instant buy in from the players because all it takes is one big win to gain momentum.

CMR and CBJ both know that this game is always huge for recruiting.

Bump for OMGhulkhands near the top of this thread...who is either full of crap or literally took a 2nd mortgage on his house to bet $4ok on the DAWGS TO BEAT THE SPREAD (10.5?)

I hope beyond all hope that if we can't win at least Ga doesn't cover. SMDH. I have bled orange since I was old enough to understand what it meant, and why every man I looked up to in my family was within eyesight or earshot of my Vols on Saturday afternoons. Regardless of what we were up against.
I would put betting my house against a bitter conference rival right up there with betting some kid from across town was going to knock my son out in his golden gloves match. Classless and traitorish IMO. We must just have different concepts of VFL, or loyalty for that matter. Wow.
