Thanks for the link. Good article. As far as Richt's philosophy of no yelling or cussing: If he can make it work with a bunch of kids who are used to being yelled and cussed at by their coach, more power to him. He better start making it work quickly, however. The Dawg fans aren't gonna keep up the "he's a good man, lets keep him" attitude much longer without some W's that matter on the field.

Good article. I'm not shocked. Richt is a good man. We had that in Coach Fulmer. There were a lot of charitable good things he did that no one knows about. I think Dooley would be that kind of coach but these coaches are rare these days. Richt may be fired one day for a losing record but that's life it happens to everybody...except Paterno...but Richt will always have character, honor, and class. That is something nobody can take from you.

Great story. It shows that coaches can be human too, and these kids are not just a number or piece of meat.

Good article, thanks. I read Richt's book a few years ago and realized how fortunate UGA was to have such a great man leading their players. I agree, Dooley is along the same lines as Richt and will never do anything to disgrace our school.

CMR is def a nice guy, and i have always thought of him as a good guy. Im gonna be sad when uga cans him and hires kirby smart, or someone who can coach the 5 star talent ga pulls. the "dream team" lol, he recruited is gonna be the final nail in his coffin when they go 7-5 next year.

I still bet the majority of Dawgs would trade Saban for Richt in a heartbeat.

I would say the majority of all college football programs would trade their coach for Saban in a heartbeat.

It's funny how in our society winning football games is more important than being a quality person. Actually its not funny it's sad. Mark Richt best of luck in all you do....except against the vols of course

Heck! The more I learn about Richt, the more he looks like the second-coming of Phil Fulmer.

Richt was a very cool coach when I met him. I got hurt at his camp when a guy dove into my knee and sprained my MCL. He came and checked on me more than once. He also was adamant about going after any kid out there trying to play dirty. Ex: I ran a go route past his nephew from Texas named Roddy, his nephew put his cleat on my calf muscle while I was running by him. Richt came down checked on me then chewed his nephew out in front of everyone in the drill while making him do push ups. I like Coach Richt and I may be moving to Athens here soon. But even if I finish my degree out up there I'm a Vol For Life(VFL).
