Team A receives opening kickoff from Team B and Team A ends first half in possession of the ball giving them 1 more possession than Team B in the first half.

Team A is +1 in possessions at that point.

Team B receives opening second half kickoff and Team A ends game in possession of ball giving Team A and B have the same number of possessions in second half.

Adding the total possessions from 1st half to the total possessions from 2nd half yields one additional possession for Team A, an extra possession.

Receiving the opening kick doesn't guarantee an extra possession but it can and does happen.
My original response to the person stating that stoops deferring implied Tennessee was going to
get an extra possession because of it.

Unless he loves living in Kentucky and being second fiddle he needs to get out while the gettins good. They have peaked and their days of competing with us are over. If he leaves the cats will be screwed. He's the best coach they could ever hope to have.

Kentucky would have to get a retread head coach, mid major head coach on the rise or a well thought of assistant from a big program.

I thought it was funny he was on the sidelines screaming at the officials because he didn’t like Heupel being on the field.

Probably the biggest cry baby in the SEC, not named Nick Saban.
He was really crying about having two weeks to prepare his defense and they looked woefully unprepared.

Even Herbstreit and Fowler were busting his chops about it.

With Ky’s non con schedule, and Miss St being their crossover, 8 should be automatic
If hes such a bad coach why were so many people worried about the UK game? I never said he was a great coach but to say hes not good at all is foolish IMO

I wasn’t that worried. I felt it was a bad matchup. Hell, it was a bad matchup every year if the QB is decent. He’s a decent coach. Like Jimmy Franklin, beats all the bad teams, can’t beat anyone any good.

That's right. Look at Tennessee's offense. The base is to spread everyone out and create running lanes and throwing lanes, moving fast. But this year Tennessee has shown the ability to go to tight sets, the rarely used I - formation, and jumbo sets. Even using a fullback and H-back. You always keep your opponent off balance by being very multiple like that on offense. The good news is that Joe Milton knows this play book very well too, so we should be in good hands next year too.
Milton is not a quick decision maker like Hooker in my opinion.

Because some people are ridiculous and feel like they have to be the "don't overlook_____" guy. I and many others said all season UK was trash. They have been, they are, they always will be.

He'll be in Iowa within 3 years, imo. Ferentz is running the worst offense in college football. Don't imagine he'll last much longer and then they'll come calling Stoops back home.
Offense won’t miss a beat…might skip one.

Well this guy was not worried.
Stoops is a 8-4 kind of guy. KY should feel blessed to have him.

Stupidly Kentucky thought they would be like Tennessee is this season. They're extremely pissed off that they will probably go 6-6 with i think losses to Missouri,Georgia and Louisville. They lie all the time saying Kentucky has better recruiting classes than Tennessee.
