Marlin Lane - Heisman 2013

I believe in Lane and this Coaching Staff and think his potential is going to be tapped into in 2013

I like lane.... but seriously?? He's an average SEC back. I'm not saying that as a slap in the face at all. He does have a little quickness, a little wiggle, but TRUELY lacks that extra gear that great backs have. I do believe he's a harder runner than Neal though.

Hope none of our players ever win it?? Wtf is wrong with u?

Yeah I'm just not a fan of the award. Think the whole campaign part of it singles out a player and then you'll start seeing an "I" in team being discussed as the new misspelled words in the "annoying misspelled VN words" thread. Then throw in the whole media hype for viewers then it's a pointless award ATP IMO.

This has been my opinion for a while. Last night during the Baylor game discussed the Seatruk comment about being the 2013 Heisman winner. Greise pretty much said it wasn't good to single out a player for the award and how bad it can be for the team as whole.

This guy's a troll. Anyone actually trying to 'answer his point's has swallowed his shallow act hook, line and sinker.

Stop being such a bunch of putzes.

Janzen was there, too.

Yep.

I also remember the footage of Da'Rick leaving the "jailhouse" and trying to cover his face behind a pieve of paper hahaha

And I'm not a troll. Ifs remember correctly, Marlin Lane was be of the highest rated backs coming out of HS before I injuring his knee. He will be back to tha form this year and used to his true potential

Lane is a very good back.....and so is Neal!

But the Heisman is a QB trophy or if there arnt any great QB that year, they give it to the best player on the best team.

For a RB to get it, the team he is on would have to be 12-0. (Maybe 11-1)

What makes you think Neal is the better back? Not heckling, just wondering.

Personally, I'd say fewer fumbles plus he's more of a receiving threat and a little more versatile. Plus I'm pretty sure Neal is faster and a little bit thicker.

But honestly, I don't really think either is much better than the other.

I'm tellin you guys, watch out for Lane next year. The guy is going to go full beast mode and will be in the heisman talks. We need to get the heisman campaign jump started! Who's with me!?!?

I dunno main. That's a tall order. Especially if he is on a team that could easily lose 5-6 games next year.

Actually I've been rereading our 2013 for the past several hours and think 9-3 is definitely possible. That would bring the spotlight Lanewill need during his heisman campaign to become a national sensation

No reason Lane can't have a breakout year. Especially with the OL largely in tact. Smells like a possible Travis Stephens waiting to breakout.

Lane has always reminded me of Marshall Faulk. Catch, run, highly versatile player. Should thrive in the new O. With the O-Line in tact and assuming he takes the lead, he could have a good year. Even better, would take a couple of backs with great years.

Exactly. O-line is going to be amazing, and with the new system that CBJ brings in, the running game should become dynamic and open up some huge lanes (pun intended).

Agreed, with proper coaching and with retaining Coach Graham, it's going to be full on heisman numbers for Lane next year. 20+ total td's
