Marlon Brown

I've said several times that Kiffin did the right thing with Boyd, but it would be nice if the QB position was less of a concern for Brown, and Boyd would likely have relieved some of that concern. Still, CLK will ink a 3 or 4 year starter at QB next year. And, with all the offensive woes we had last year, it's hard for me to blame all of that on the QB.

The Ole Miss quote is spot on. It's just they're real bad a whole lot more than they are good.

Why? The only other person you can blame is Clawson. We had the same people and RBs and WRs and a different QB and the two seasons were like night and day. All the quarterbacks were terrible last year and i place about 90% of the blame on them. The rest goes on Clawson.

Huh? There wasn't but one guy on offense who played worth mentioning. In my mind, that was Jones. The second best offensive player for the season was Eric Berry. Anyone who wants playing time on offense should sign with UT. There's virtually no competition.

winning something significant in the past decade doesnt equal future success.. Too many teams in the SEC are in the process of passing UGA up for a while, atleast for the next 4 years

Then they're foolish. GA is a powerhouse. 2 years ago they were one of the best teams in CFB (of course, WE beat them :whistling:). GA has plenty of talent and Richt is a coach who has taken them to 3 SEC CG (winning 2 of them). They'll be fine.

In addition to loading up on WR's, the position where I think we should be getting about 2 or 3 big names players is LB.

It appears the DB beast know UT will be a great place.

This excites me, I want to see a new generation of Al Wilson's and Leonard Little's TALENT WISE on the field.

Boyd has an ACL injury and wasn't going to play in 2009 for us. It makes sense to get a more pure passer in 2010 than to sign a dual-threat QB, if they're both going to be ready to play at the same time.

I was going to start a new thread but maybe this will get some responces here how do we feel about all the receivers, who is the best ect.

I would go
Brown
Richardson
Kelly
Teague
Stokes
Jeffery
Green

What yall think?

You can't downplay that if Marlon signs with UGA he does so not really knowing who his basketball coach would be next year. That may factor in.

Hey folks new guy here! This looks like a GREAT place to ask what everyone thinks of our chances tomorrow to get Marlon Brown. We all know he could be a HUGE impact player that would add a deep threat that we have been lacking since Robert Mecham. Anyhow great to be here and looking forward to what everyone thinks our chances are. Personally I think we got a 50/50 shot.

I am going to go as far as 2/3rd chance us and 1/3rd chance GA...I think we nab him because of the attention we have given him.'

Welcome to the best place on earth...or the internet earth that is!:hi:

He seemed to have a good time on his visit, I believe we get him as well. Im hoping for NuKeese and JeRon to hop on board as well. With Green and Rogers that might be up there with the best class of WRs in the whole country... :)

I thought you guys might be interested in various posters' thoughts about MB

Take it for what it's worth. Sources close to the team this morning are feeling very confident on OM's chances of landing 4-star WR Marlon Brown. It seems to have a lot to do with the kid's grandmother. She loves Houston Nutt and OM, and expects to be a major player in his decision. Bash me all you want, he will be in the red and blue.

If anyone thinks that Brown to any team has been a done deal for a while, than you have not followed recruiting very well. What I am hearing is that his grandmother (who has more to do with this, than people want to realize) loves Houston Nutt and wants him to stay closer to home. The kid is also not stupid, he wants Jevan Snead throwing him the ball.

At Georgia he would get to play opposite to AJ Green for at least two years, be thrown the ball by one of 4 elite 11 QBs on campus, have a competent running game to help create one-on-one matchups on the edge, and be in a program that is on national TV MANY times throughout the year.

I am tired of the Grandma story and that BS about GA is simply that. If he wants to stay close to Grandma that much then he needs to, he wouldn't be focusing on football if it was any other way.

Love the quote from the Ole Miss fan -- "The kid is also not stupid, he wants Jevan Snead throwing him the ball."

Snead's already 3 years removed from high school. He had a freshman season at Texas, redshirted in 07 at Ole Miss, and played his RS Sophomore year for the Rebs in 08. If he has a strong 2009 season, it could very likely be his last at Ole Miss.

Why would Brown, being "not stupid," select a college for a qb he may only have 1 season with?
