Marlon Brown

Turner had a decent career, but he was the #2 ranked player in the country. He was a bust compared to his ranking.

turner ended up being a good player but he was never usc's big-time receiver. the transfer from arkansas, williams, stole the spotlight in turner's senior season.

Is it just me or was Patrick Turner a huge bust for USC. Don't know his stats, believe he's a senior. Anyone know what his draft status is. A huge prospect for UT a few years back, now it seems he has faded alot.

Surely we remember Turner right? Don't recall him doing much at USC?

If we get him he'd have been a prime target.

When I think about it, Turner is a prime example of what wasted talent means. I believe he would of thrived at UT believe it or not. We'll never know. To me it just makes more sense for a player like Brown, Stokes, or even Patterson (although unlikely) to give the Vols a try. What do they have to lose, right? I would think under Kiffin that anyone of these guys along with Gerald Jones will be "playmakers." And if they have 1/2 the impact that Berry has made on Defense......WATCHOUT!!!!

so would every other vol fan but i don't see it happening. with rumors going around that kelly is committing i think this means we've lost brown to uga.

The whole uga thing is overplayed. What D1 athlete has ever started and finished school with the same girlfriend?

He's coming to UT!

hey i'm not disagreeing with you on that. i rarely know of any guy, d1 athlete or not, who stayed with their hs gf through college. my sister dated a guy for 5 years and 3 months after he left for college he dumped her. it happens haha.

i'm just saying that i think IF, and that's a big IF, the rumors of kelly coming to ut are true, we are going to lose out on brown. i hope we don't because i'd love to see them here together but i don't see it happening.

why not? kelly is ranked about 100 spots below marlon brown on the rivals 250. marlon shouldnt be scared by him

I think that we could land both. There is room for both of them to shine.

Brown is still sayin he has no idea where hes gonna choose. if this is true than i think that meens that on nsd he will fold under the pressure around him and come to UT.

It will not be the end of the world on the HILL if MB goes furhter south. He will just feel the pain of a bad decision com fall.

it seems like he likes all the attention so since he got treated like royalty and has obtained rockstar status in knoxville i dont see him goin anywhere else. i work close to athens and nobody cares about him or even wishing he will come there to obessed with a.j. green.

True. I don't really get the mentality that anyone with League aspirations wants anything but the best running routes with him. It's a little easier to get open when you're not double-covered.

I don't know how much stock I'd put into who rated above who. On the other hand, Kiffin has really courted Brown heavily... and he knows NFL talent.

In addition to loading up on WR's, the position where I think we should be getting about 2 or 3 big names players is LB.

It appears the DB beast know UT will be a great place.

As far as the lack of big uglies on the OL, that's more a sign of not having enough time to recruit. Apparently, they need coaches who have time to show them more attention. On the other hand, I do think the S&C work combined with a sensible blocking scheme will pay serious dividends from the OL guys we have on the roster.

sitting through Hooker's terrible writing was worth it for this comment---

“They have a great offense for receivers,” Brown said. “(But) It’s Ole Miss football. Sometime they are good; sometimes they are real bad.”

Brown says he has 'no idea' on college choice : Football Recruiting : GoVolsXtra.com

I've said several times that Kiffin did the right thing with Boyd, but it would be nice if the QB position was less of a concern for Brown, and Boyd would likely have relieved some of that concern. Still, CLK will ink a 3 or 4 year starter at QB next year. And, with all the offensive woes we had last year, it's hard for me to blame all of that on the QB.

The Ole Miss quote is spot on. It's just they're real bad a whole lot more than they are good.
