A follow in poll would be to ask those that have been divorced if they have more than one failed marriage. The stats indicate ALL marriages, which means those that have two divorces or more negatively impact the data on 1st time marriages.

Perhaps there are 70% of all 1st time married that survive as a couple? Maybe more?

I am so pissed at myself at not ever seeing George Jones live. I was planning it with a buddy when I was deployed in 2012. He died in april 2013. I just wanted to shake his hand. I am sure he would have been happy to shake mine to.

Saw him sing HSLHT about 5 years before he died. Bucket list item. That song added many years to his life.

I agree. However, I think about half of those that do divorce, don't try to save their marriage when it starts going downhill. Not saying that some aren't warranted, but too many people give up too easily.
