Marsalis Teague

just that family travel will begin to weigh on him. Gainesville is a long drive compare to Knoxville

just an opinion but the latest probably reflects all the all star state games

like teague had a decent game in the TN all star game as a QB..so they went ahead and bumped him

Is it possible this may have something to do with all the post-season accolades he’s received? I'm new to the forum and unfortunately am not very familiar with the star ratings.

Marsalis was named to the All-Region and All-State teams. He was also the Offensive MVP of the Toyota Classic All-Star Game, Gatorade Tennessee Football Player of the Year, Region 7-4A MVP, The Tennessean 2008 Player of the Year, and Mr. Football 4-A. Plus I think there are another couple awards I may have missed.

I've from Henry Co. and have had the pleasure of watching Marsalis play since Pop Warner, and he really is amazing. I hate that we missed out on him (and not just because this means I'll actually have to watch the Florida games) :ermm:

The whole thing is hard for me to grasp. I mean, him being from Tennessee and not wanting to play for TN, especially since he supposedly grew up a UT fan. I could understand Bama more than Florida. After all, a lot of West TN kids go to Bama, but Florida? I think he does indeed signs with Florida, but I also anticipate him on dreading his decision.

no, but our d staff additions will turn some heads in the next few days

The Vols are putting together a great staff, no doubt. Teague is a done deal though. UT got in way too late on him. He is a Gator, and even if he had not went to UF he wouldn't have went to UT. Alabama was making more progress with him than anyone before his announcement.

Never a "done deal" until the ink is dry..... Ask the LSU fans who raided our board Tuesday evening.

I suppose Greg Ried was a "done deal" as well, huh?

Your right, if I would have thought anyone was a "done deal" it would have been Ried. Though I do find it odd in an interview yesterday he kept talking about his love for Florida but academics are playing a part in this. He was quoted as saying his teachers have been a major influance in this. They have been with him at practice all week, decked out in UGA stuff. Weird stuff, but that's recruiting for you! Still doesn't change my opinion on Teague.

I don't get why a Tennessee Mr. Football and all of the other accolades he's received wouldn't want to go to his favorite college team. He's grown up a UT fan. Just doens't make any sense to me.

A Lot of people are still thinking he could be a surprise commit for UT on NSD. Who knows? I guess we will still have to wait and see.

I'm pretty sure that Teague is solid to the Gators. I don't think UT has ever really been in it since the Spring. Fulmer cost us this one.

Where? Haven't seen this.

I saw on one of these forums a while back. If i remember correctly it was said that the distance may me the reason because friends and family wouldn't be able to see him play. Sorry i don't have the exact words. i will try to research and find out more details.
