In fairness, I don't think he's saying Kellie needs to provide an explanation for Jaz leaving...more that the next need for the team is a veteran PG to replace Jaz.

As for Marta...additional size, shooting skill and depth is always a good thing. Rennia graduates next year and Marta can learn under her this year and provide Kellie with options for how to replace her. International experience is generally a positive. UConn had some success with their freshman G who was a foreign player no one had heard much about, and they are bringing in one next year, and Oregon has done well with foreign players too. There's a bigger market than just AAU, so why not go after i?

I think the safer assumption is that Kellie and her staff have actively scouted and recruited her. I am sure they have seen a lot more film that casual fans have access to via youtube.

It also seems a safe assumption the Kellie and staff would also have a vested interest in recruiting players they believe 1) will fit the team's style of play; 2) can fill roster needs.

Given those conditions, it is reasonable to use the limited youtube vids to induce what skills attracted the coaching staff to this player and what needs this player might be able to fill.

Kellie has more knowledge of this player than just a portal....Remember the European trip this preseason...I think that Coach K may have gotten to see something that impressed her then,,,Just a thought,,,

Good post Amb....I remember the Boneyard was going wild over some girl, from a foreign country, they think is going to make them a contenders again...I don't even know her name, but she deserves a chance as any other player deserves a chance.

Agree with everything you posted. You can bet Coach Harper has seen a ton more video on her if not in person when they were in Europe.

She displayed some skills but it’s always good to look at the competition it was against. They looked like a low level HS skill level.

"Address" has several meanings. Darth_Vol was using definition 2 below, not 3b.

BTW, saying you "embezzled" is the same as saying you stole. There's nothing positive about the word "embezzlement"

I have that feeling like the one you get where you order takeout, go to pick it up, get halfway home and realize the total on the receipt is completely wrong and you have _no_ idea what's in the bag. Is it any good? Will I like it? What's a "mulligatawny" and why is it in a cup? Is that even English? Oh boy this is going to be unlike anything I've ordered in the past.

That. That feeling. The "I don't know who ordered this or what this is but looks like I'm gonna find out" feeling. That's how I feel about whatever we see taking the court for Tennessee once basketball resumes. I've got _no_ idea anymore. Hey, it could be great! It could be my new favorite thing. Or it could be something else. But I have no idea and it's a long drive before I find out. It certainly is going to be different. That much I know.
