Thought that was kind of low. He just said he's been out of the country.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Chism has been out of the country since last year. I know the article said "away from Knoxville", but since he was at pretty much every home game in 2011, I'm guessing he wasn't going back and forth overseas. Plus, if I'm not mistaking, he played 3 games in Turkey, then didn't play the rest of the season due to "an undisclosed injury". I know I saw him twice in Knoxville while the Turkish League was still going.
They’d rave about Pearl the tactician, Pearl the motivator, Pearl the innovator. Yes, he could beat No. 1 Kansas with four key players suspended. But why was he forced to win that way? Why were those four players driving around Knoxville at high noon on New Year’s Day toting guns and alcohol and drugs? Because Bruce Almighty was pushing them to be better people?

This comment is ridiculous. The author is really going to blame Pearl for their actions? Did Pearl give them the booze, the gun, or the drugs? That should tell you all you need to know about the author's intentions with this article. Trash.
It tells you the truth, that Pearl was far from running a disciplined program.
